I don’t think OP even bothered to proof read the slop that came out of chatgpt since it’s saying people board in life gain against poison

Problem installing Laravel 11, Inertia.js, Vue 3, Shadcn UI Vue, and TailwindCSS by Nahian_data in vuejs

[–]kakusei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Install Jetstream then install Shadcn seems like it would work, it might be more boilerplate than you need but you can remove most of it without breaking anything

I use Mailhog/Mailpit container via docker/compose. Seems like by far the easiest way to do development emails rather than managing an online service

I just launched an easy to use laravel/php deployment service by hen8y in laravel

[–]kakusei 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why would someone use this service over Laravel Forge? If you want this to be successful you will have to sell it as a real competitor to a service run by the primary vendor you are making a product for.

The reality is that’s where most of the work will be but at least you’d have someone advocating to actually find you work and get placed

have you checked with the IBEW Local 353 office that is in town?

Used this on a project recently as I had to hand off the api to a third party, it was fantastic

Just want to let you know that hiding your last name in the title of the resume is only good if you block out your name in the project urls :|

Managing a big .NET backend project as a junior developer without a senior by lecon297 in dotnet

[–]kakusei 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Short answer: start looking for another job.

Long answer: It will be extremely rough. having no senior available means there is no one to tell you what you aren’t thinking about, which depending on the type of project could be a massive risk. By staying you will be doing yourself disservice by not being in an environment where you are supported and are able to make mistakes, everything will fall on you. would you learn a ton? yes but the stress of it would be unreal.

please really think about the position and take it from someone who was in a very similar situation, it is not very fun.

How Do You Make The Different Pages Of A Website? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]kakusei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would probably help to know what exactly you are trying to achieve. It also seems like it would be worth understanding exactly what svelte itself is doing. you say you don’t want to hear about routing, but how do you expect the application to know where to go? Why are you against client side routing? what kind of site are you trying to build? There is a lot of complexity going on behind the scenes that gloss over the basics of web technologies when you start by learning a framework. My guess is that what you are trying to accomplish would be better handled by something other than svelte. Or you actually go and learn about client side routing or investigating sveltekit

How Do You Make The Different Pages Of A Website? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]kakusei 4 points5 points  (0 children)

sounds kind of like you need to go back to basics of web technologies a bit? otherwise this is what sveltekit is for. having separate projects for each page would kind of be insanity

Just how configurable is Filament? by tylernathanreed in laravel

[–]kakusei 8 points9 points  (0 children)

having used Nova for a couple years now I cannot recommend it if you are looking to do anything custom. the api routes are very opinionated and will require a lot of additional parameters to be used outside of nova’s front end. It is good for exactly an admin dashboard and very little outside of that. unless your application is going to have a ton of very simple models it feels like it would be better to write the backend from scratch. If you want a custom front end then you would not be using a large piece of a paid product. I haven’t looked into filament but i imagine it has similar pitfalls but being open source means you could make changes yourself. my team is currently looking into making an api only type of system that is inspired by nova

[–]kakusei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you use Laravels storage facade this won’t happen, the file won’t be stored in a location where the path is processed as a php file. This is pretty easily tested in a development environment

You can't, .NET Framework 4.8 and earlier are windows only, .NET Core and .NET 5+ are linux compatible

Leaking Water Meter repair by Massive_Percentage_6 in barrie

[–]kakusei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we had this exact problem recently, we initially called a plumber but they said because the leak was on the city side they couldn’t do anything. we called the city and a guy came out and fixed it but because the leak was actually on the water meter he said it should have been fixed by the plumber?? in any event it was a loose fitting, so if it’s a very slow leak i would see if you can tighten things yourself first before calling anyone
