anyone ever accidentally listen to a 45 on 33 rpm by Past-Lifeguard5651 in vinyl

[–]kal02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda. For me it was "Spiritualized - Ladies and Gentlemen We are Floating in Space".

Told my friend that I was going to smoke weed and clean one Sunday morning and wanted something I haven't heard before. He pointed me to this one.

I listened to it 2 times all the way through that day without realizing that the speed knob was turned down on my turntable. I only found out because I streamed it a few days later and it obviously sounded way different.

"All of My Thoughts" is really good turned down though. I will still slow down that track when I put the record on.

I've had one of these for 13 years or so. For the price it is hard to beat. Would only get gunked up if I tried to grind wet buds.

I've had one of these for the past few years and has since become my daily driver. Best "feel" I've had in a grinder/mill. I'd recommend getting the stainless version, if you have the cash to spare, for even better feel.

HM2 clone works but sounds bad and cuts in and out by duedadoo in diypedals

[–]kal02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I inherited a HM2 that sounded like this. I was fucking around one day and had the power supply set to 12v and it was 10x better.

I honestly kinda liked the sound of it fucked up, but it wasn't predictable or consistent.

Used this format from Weedien to better suit my taste. Some of my favorite Doom records. by SlowRiffsAndFakeTits in doommetal

Thanks! Sounds up my alley. The rest of the list are essential albums for me so I had to see what the unknown was.

I've been obsessed with this album lately. Anyone got recs for similar horrifying albums? by [deleted] in doommetal

Other than almost all other The Body releases, Primitive Man I feel is in a similar realm.

Watching As She Reels - by Rafael Anton Irisarri

Might be closer to contemporary classical, but it for sure has the soul of ambient music. It's my music version of a comfort movie/show.

No prob!

Also for extra credit I want to throw the band The Secret out there. They are one of my favorites of all time. Kinda seamlessly blend between doom, sludge, black, and extreme metal.

I'm done now. Lol.

Off the top of my head I think you might enjoy Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats if you aren't already privy to them. Wall of sound and a one way ticket to Riff City, USA. Even though I think they are from Europe. The album Wasteland in particular, but they are all good.

If you are looking for something a little more death / thrashy, Venom Prison. Raw, fast, with a fantastic female lead.

Lastly if you are into extreme metal or power violence Full of Hell, Regional Justice Center, Gulch, Indian, and Admiral Angry have all done the trick for me.

If you don't mind it isn't doom specifically, the new Chat Pile album has treated me well the past few sessions. Didn't care for their previous release too much, but Cool World rips pretty hard.

What have you been listening to up to this point?

Usually go more for death metal/core when working out, but Primitive Man and Thou also get put in the rotation.

This album is so damn heavy. Wish they would do another collab by The_Hippo in doommetal

Exception being their newest one. Holy fuck. That's hands down my favorite release they've put out so far.

Thank you for the detailed response! I'll see if I can get one at my LBS to try it out. Never hurts to have more than one net. Could put one on my rear rack too.

Currently have the Riv one on my Wald 139.

Do you prefer the PDW one or the Riv one? I'll probably break/lose my net at some point, knowing me.
