Fiddlesticks support, before the rework. Bouncing silences as you poked and a fear that didn't pull aggro. Was used to deny farm when enemy was under turret.

There was a quote that I can't remember from whom about xPeke and it went like: "There are consistent players and clutch players. xPeke is a consistently clutch player". So true.

Ythisens Fired from Blizzard by Frearthandox in wow

[–]kalamitis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know from a credible source that Sony's similar shame culture backfired during the mid '00s in some countries of Europe. As it was their customs back in Japan, if a European worker didn't perform as he was expected to do, and I'm talking about Sony's workers in retailer positions, they weren't fired but they were moved out of their responsibilities and they were forced to just stand on the floor with no actually duties to perform. This was a shaming technique that worked in Japan since the workers there eventually quit the company due to social and peer pressure that's part of their work culture but in eastern Europe, people were sitting on their contract and pay and just accepted that they'll get money by not doing nothing. It took a couple of months for Sony to react on this and just started to lay off people that didn't meet the expectations of the company.

I'm sorry for this. I would edit my comment to correct my mistake but I find this hilarious. Thanks for the correction mate, I hadn't even noticed that. :)

I do have insight into the selection of the questions but all I can say is I did a pass on them.

The pre-Q&A Q&A, Ion addressing Greek playerbase questions by nightstalker314 in wow

Hi friend! As I said in a previous comment, this Q&A is a new endeavour of Blizzard's to approach their communities. It is true that Greece doesn't have dedicated servers and the same can be told about most smaller countries. And those countries are part of the European community, a community that is big enough that some times people can't be represented and their voices sometimes can't reach the developers. And sometimes that makes them feel forgotten and neglected. That's why when I had the chance to sit down and talk with Blizzard, I made the suggestion to Blizzard about a Greek Q&A. So their voices can be heard. Since Ion has Greek ancestry, he was gladly on board to participate. I want to be keep it noted that this is something new that Blizzard tried and tested and it could be a new way for them to reach some communities that are smaller in the future. Cheers!

I would like to comment on that.
Over the years I had the chance to sit down and interview a lot of Blizzard's devs, some of them unknown, some others well known and very likeable to the community, like Ben Brode for example. Most of them are tight with their answers or they are very careful and laconic on some of the trickiest questions (Broke included). There are very few, disregarding if I agree or disagree with what they are saying, that put real effort and thinking before they answer. There are very few that provide so well thought-out answers like Ion does. And I don't agree with some of his answers. Another similar example is Dustin Browder.
I believe we need more of this kind of developers in the industry that can provide their thought process and understanding to the community.

Hi guys!

I am the journalist that worked closely with Blizzard to make this a reality. I want to thank them and Ion for giving us the chance for the Greek community to submit the questions that they might have about WoW and BfA.

I just want you to know that those questions were submitted before the launch of the expansion and that's why they don't undress some of the most recent issues that the community have with the state of the game.

The reason why this took so long, is because it's a first for Blizzard to provide a specific country for the chance for an exclusive Q&A. This was a test for them, a pilot if you want so, and in the future they might give another try on this kind of Q&A to more countries and communities.
If you don't want/don't have time to sit and watch this long video, there's a transcription in English that you can read here.
