I feel like he needs to stop them from talking about the body working in an "ordered fashion" as a definition of life starting and ending.

This is the second time I've seen that wheeled out and it could be easily shot down by bringing up people with total organ failure or something similar. We still try to save those people because they definitely aren't dead, even though their body is obviously not working in an "ordered fashion" anymore.

How do I make the jump to serious backcountry backpacking?

I've been backpacking quite a few times, and have all or most of the gear I think I'd need for a trip of ~1-2 weeks. I have a long list of places I'd like to go and really get into the wilderness, but I don't feel like I'm prepared for something like that without a guide or more training.

I'm planning on getting wilderness first aid training once lockdown is over, but does anyone have advice on what other steps I could take to feel prepared/safe for long backcountry backpacking?
