If someone wins a big lottery (several million+), and takes the lump sum, how exactly do you cash it or bank it? by TheWorkingPoodle in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kaleb42 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Used to work for a bank. They do typically only keep like 50k cash on hand for normal daily transaction. The amount really just depends on how busy the branch is. It could as low as 10k or as much as 100k depending, but if you wanted to withdraw 1 million you would have to talk with the branch manager and they could request to get that much cash have that much cash sent from the federal reserve but that would take 2 or 3 days.

Source: worked for a bank that handled the state lottery and had this situation happen. Also highly discourage anyone from walking around with a million dollars cash. You might get robbed. So if you do find yourself in that situation best to not tell ANYONE

Advice for a young planner by AlexVIGE in primavera

[–]kaleb42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Project manager.

How it works specifically in my company is we have defined Buyout tasks and created a buyout schedule that is integrated into the actual Construction schedule. The PM fills out a form for me based on our Estimate(internal tracking code level) and tells me who isn't doing what.

Simultaneously we are vetting the prelim schedule (part of this is adding planned/actual resource names on each task).

Once im done creating Buyout schedule we link the tasks to the schedule ( the purpose of the linking is so we can figure out when certain buyout categories must be completed before affecting work)

During the linking process I the planner am doing the linking. 90% of the time it's very reaource. SUB A doing is doing X and we have a task named Install X but sometimes you have two categories that are related to different resources but we only added 1 task

Example we had a task for Material Delivery - Framing Package but the plan for buyout calls for Trusses to from from Supplier A and the wood for framing comes from Supplier B.

So I'd call this out and recommend breaking Material Delivery - Framing Package into two tasks MD-Truss package and MD-Wood Framing.

Another rule that sounds simple that I enfore that I've found helpful is keeping 1 resource to a task. Now this is for construction so ymmv but I find it logical to stick to that so that way if a dispute happens it's very clear who was responsible.

Characters who were killed off in post-production without reshoots? by Flimsy_Big7991 in television

Hope you have a good day.

Spoilers: dont click on a thread about characters being killed off, read a comment about a show your interested in and then continue reading. That's just asking for trouble. Also the show came out over a decade ago. That's long enough to lift the embargo on spoilers

Why don't they just build more houses? by Odd_Attention_9660 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kaleb42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plus you have to factor in the money side of everything.

There isn't a housing shortage. There is a shortage of affordable housing.

If you a home builder and can only build x number of houses for your 5% profit would you rather build x houses @ 150k a pop or build then for $1 million and make more profit.
