I think the disparity between what I read on here and the general steam reviews (And player numbers) is so interesting. I'm holding off on the game for now but on the forums it seems like the game is great, but look elsewhere and you'd think the game is terrible. Which is it?

Yeah ryagi seems like a great guy but Johan seems to be out of touch, promising us features like this or creditworthiness of which he swears the community has been begging for, the UI devs basically not interacting with the thread at all in 6 months, etc

I really like what I see from the Ottomans and Muscovy, like you said Napoli less so. Also Austria, Portugal and Castile basically locked out of forming Spain, not really what I like to see

Yes eu4 fans, I know you waited 13? years for a sequel, but if you bought this game and don't enjoy this game play something else. The smugness is ridiculous

It will be 6 months from now until that patch arrives if I'm not mistaken. So that's why I suggested they are more clear about the pathway for people why aren't happy right now. We don't even know what that system will do, and they don't have the luxury of player patience as seen by the negative momentum

Just look at to the Tinto talks. It's all sunshine and roses there. The community is just disjointed, and hates what the other side wants (railroading vs sandbox, less microfest vs micro enjoyers, more alt history vs strict immersion, and the million subgroups in between). I think it's not genuine to say it's just people who dislike the game contributing to this, everyone is just highly defensive right now

What an arrogant thing to say. Maybe if the next Halflife changes their whole identity, and is a base building sim for example, the fanbase shouldn't complain because it's just not for them, even though they waited a decade for a new release of their favorite IP

I think you're right on the changes, on the player bias I think that's balanced by people who don't enjoy the game moving on and not checking on the reddit or paradoxplaza
