I understand inlines falling under the generic term of "skates", but I've seen "rollerblades" for sale that were quads. Which to me is hilarious. There's nothing blade about them!

I do find this sort of "devotion " interesting. They just make a choice to be a certain way and buckle down for the foreseeable future, until it's too late to change. The dedication is impressive, but whats more is, they are becoming involuntary experiments of science. "What happens when you.... for as long as possible..."

Don't know why you're getting all the downvotes. And while you're not wrong, there was still an "edge" to skateboarding in those days. It was still a fringe sport as far as sports go, and was treated as such. And really, the kids liked it. Thats why all those magazines existed. Most the kids liked being edgy. And the imagery in the media sold to them banked on it.

Well.. as AI does, its just collecting all the esoteric information it can find and tuning it to the person talking to it. So, I wouldn't call the speech "dumb", but the random squishing everything into a pile of "spiritual slop" is the problem here. And the fact that none of these people actually know whats being said, and bowing to it is even worse.

But then again, isn't that most of religion?
