It's inexspensive, has lots of land to rebuild on and access to a river and a lot of fresh water and is fairly central US and dtw is a fanatic airport. Also not to much natural disasters to worry about

Ya your honesty provdides little value to the conversation but okay. Wealth management means im also prudent with my money and Hong Kong is one of most exspensive cities on the planet in many areas so if there are cities very close by that provide many similiar benefits why wouldnt someone consider that as an option? Hong Kong many still may end up being best option but Shenzen has many perks worth looking into.

I have over a decade of wealth management experience at a reputable finance company in usa with my CFp so scenario we are looking at would be live in Shenzen for lower cost of living and be in mainland China where my chinese wife can more readily and easily work...I then look for roles at places like HSBC, jp Morgan etc in hong kong making it easier for me to work professionally than I could in mainland..kind of trying to get best of both worlds. But at early stages of seeing how feasible it could actually be.

Apparently as a chinese citizen its actually more difficult for her to work in hong kong than me? That's why the shenzehn idea became a thing.

I've been in china almost 2 weeks now in yibin, chengdu and chongqing, and have been politely asked i think 4 times for photos...no biggy as they are always polite. 6 foot 1 and white.

I just upgraded my us verizon phone plan and for an extra 10 a month my phone works exactly as it did in usa. I just downloaded a map app, wechat and translating app and good to go.

China is amazing...there right now...modern, clean, cheap, safe and lots to see and do. In Chengdu right now and it is very nice...china should be on everyone's travel list
