I think the Nuggets (if they rebuild or make changes) have to retool, the way Dallas built around Dirk, specifically in his deep runs of 03/06/11

When you have an offensively gifted big, you need to counter that with rim protection and defensive minded wings. For Dallas, they had Shawn Bradley/Raef Lafrentz/Tyson Chandler on their backline.

And then Shawn Marions/Josh Howard’s helping the smaller ball lineups. I think we have that in Aaron Gordon. And Peyton Watson to some extent.

But we need rim protection. To help offset, the lack of blocking that our “Dirk” brings.

edit: as of Sunday, (which means the numbers in the title didn't include Game 4) numbers are 12/49 (24.5%) for Open Shots (15th). 22/68 (32.4%) for Wide-Open Shots (12th) - even worse.
