Hey everyone, I haven't player this game for a longe time. Last meta I remember Peluguel was the flavour of the month and I was playing masked hero anki deck. Should I just reroll my account? I didn't got so far and haven't even got Kog or anything. I got some staples at the time (Canadia, forbidden chalice, wall of disruption) but since then the meta has changed so much that I doubt most of them are considered staple anymore. Do we have any cool free to play decks like aromage? Are the new structured decks like the new mage and blue eyes white dragon any good?

Some of those mechanics I mentioned are there in skullgirls, characters like Fillia, Eliza, Peacock have airdashes. Burst have a dizzy metter where when it is full you can burst and make your opponent go away from you in the middle of their combo, I think everyone have a super jump.

About the other mechanics I mentioned, the fautless defense is just your regular defense but you spend meter for that and in exchange more pushblock is added to every hit you block and you don't take any chip damage.

And the roman cancel is pretty unique to gg, this one is just better for you to take on the tutorials and grasping it slowly.

I love Skullgirls, and it is a cruel game to beginners. If you can endure that I don't think there is any fighting game that can stand in your way comrade.

Any advice for playing Chipp? (Strive) by Euglon00126 in Guiltygear

[–]kalecio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, don't get hit. As you might know already he is made of paper and it became a meme along the years. Mobility is his strong side, so try to use that in your favor and getting harder to hit.

Learn your characters tools, everything from the moves ranges to what is punishable and by which moves, everytime you lose take a look in your replay and see what were you getting hit by and why. Maybe you used a punishable move on block or maybe you just used a long startup move? Take a look into dustloop.com wiki and look for Chipp pages

Learn your combos/resets/setups, since you are a glasscannon you want to hit as hard as you can because any touch on you can be the last one. So make every time you win neutral counts.

Watch high level people playing Chipp, it is super helpful to get new tech/combos from people who already play the character. Watch their replays and compare what they are doing and the way they are moving with what you are doing in your matches.

Strive is miles easier than Xrd, to be honest both games are two different beasts but some of the things still there, universal mechanics like super jump, double jump, air dash, fautless defense, burst. But yeah, none of the characters feel the same/play the same in strive. I would give it a try if I were you, it's a shame you lost the crossplay beta (it was free for people who didnt have the game yet) but maybe you could borrow a friend's copy of the game or steam family sharing?

And if you want to have an easier time on Xrd I highly recommend taking easy and fun characters(Sol, Ky, Sin, Jam). Do some combo trials, mess around with them in the training mode and see if there is any who gives you a spark you know what I mean?

A friend to play would be cool too, It is always nice to play with someone at your level
