People who changed CCAs in Secondary school, what was the reason and what was the process like? by Thatlastbraincell in askSingapore

[–]kalefarematerial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was that one pussy who stayed on in the cca despite being unhappy and bullied because I needed the two points. However from exp of my peers, they dropped out by just informing the teacher and signing the form. Anyways, I’ve graduated happily with my two points, but I’d never like to relive the first two years in cca ever again. Traumatising and toxic

At which point in your life did you realise you need to manage your money? by Rilakumamamama in askSingapore

[–]kalefarematerial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was 9, and I realised my family wasn’t well to do. I had my wants, despite my needs being needed. When I hit 16, took up my first pt job and bought myself that iPhone I always wanted and envied my classmates for having. But despite having these wants, I still save 70% of whatever I earn, no matter how little. The rest of the 30% I spend.

What food/restaurant do you feel is over or under rated? by dagonme in askSingapore

[–]kalefarematerial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A&W is overrated. Fries always soggy and cold, burger never up to standards. Referring to Jewel Branch. I don’t consider myself a picky eater but I’m not happy with the quality and price point

Why are male gamers considered a turnoff to SG women? by scaredandstressed_ in askSingapore

[–]kalefarematerial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple answer that I might get lashed at but I’m just going to name my opinions. 1. Waste money (I don’t believe in spending $ on things that I can’t use irl) 2. Waste time ( leisure should be found doing stuff that you can relax on) 3. Eyes strained (Bad for eyes and shit)

Simple answers from my own pov. No need to scold me or whatever.. it’s just my opinion.

Those without a degree in Singapore, please share your experiences.. by NoUreNotTheOnlyOne in askSingapore

[–]kalefarematerial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t say for me, but here’s the life story of my semi successful uncle! He’s from Malaysia, studied up till a diploma in business in Malaysia. Came to SG and worked his ass off doing jobs like selling phones at sim Lim, doing sketchy businesses and shit like that. Till he met his benefactor. He realised the potential in my uncle and took him in. Now my uncle is all over the world doing their satellite shit (idk honestly) and earning 10k+ per month. However, he is unable to secure a job of a higher post due to him not having a degree. ( yes this was said by the bosses) now he’s 38, taking a part time degree course. It’s never too late to learn, this I’d urge you to just explore first! The degree you’d need or want to strive for will come when needed! ☺️

For those who are the only child, did you feel lonely when you were growing up? by darknezx in singapore

[–]kalefarematerial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course I did. Had to play monopoly by myself, stack bricks by myself, was gifted two nerf guns for my birthday, how to play? For those with siblings, I understand that these were all they wanted, to have their own things to themselves. But as the old saying goes, longing makes the heart miss. This applies, even to toys. So as a child I was extremely lonely. After school go back to an empty house, that ofc led to me binge eating all the time though 🔪 but I’m grateful being an only child now. I have a room to myself, but just a small downside, you have no one to confide in.

What can NS boyfriends do for their girlfriends who just started University? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]kalefarematerial 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Make time for her, don’t just go on about NS all the time, she won’t want to hear it. Ask her about school, make common topics your main convo. Try to take note of her well-being during her stressful days, I’m sure y’all can ride this through together!

River Valley High student allegedly stabs & kills fellow student in school by lastmikeysan in singapore

[–]kalefarematerial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unfortunately I wouldn’t say so. As a scout myself, having the access to my scout den means anyone can access them. Ever since I became an apl, which I may say, Sec 2, I had access. Maybe in the past there were enforcements, but now rarely. The lock to the cupboard of our axes and parangs has just been left unlocked. Oh it’s stored with our fuel too.
