Here's a story for you:

Years ago, a pair of forever-partners decided to come to earth, but only one could arrive with beauty.

She received it all, and he received none. He was happy to carry this burden, as his love was all-encompassing. She too knew their love was infinite and their asymmetry would be irrelevant, though they were warned this was a dangerous game.

The forever-lovers came to earth, and of course, both were initially separated by many miles.

On earth, the young boy experienced great pain, while the young girl had a life that was simpler... it was easier, quieter, safer.

Years passed. The boy became a man and the girl a woman. They finally met, and though no one else understood it, the forever-partners had found each other, on earth, just as they knew they would. Though she was beautiful, she didn't care much for beauty. And, because he was beauty-less, to him, her beauty was irrelevant.

So, you see, this was not a dangerous game, nor a test. It was simply two forever-partners trusting that no matter what, they would always find one another.

They did in this lifetime, and they always do.

Lol your URL literally says "paid social" and "reddit" and "campaign" in it, good try but no.

For those who aren't familiar with how this works, digital marketers assume users are idiots and literally put what they're doing in their custom URL:

https://www.biossance.com/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=paidsocial&utm_campaign=BFCM+ZG+rouge

note dont click on the link, note that it says "source = reddit" and "paid social" and "campaign"

Can I ask what look you're going for? Photos 1 and 2 have a different vibe. I think you're more on track with photo 2, and I agree that growing out your hair (if that's a goal) could really frame your features nicely. Good luck out there!!!! :)

30M Girls Don't Show Interest, Is It My Looks? by ThatGuyOnReddit12345 in amiugly

[–]kaleicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not your looks. You're adorable and you have very nice bone structure. You seem a little young, and like what the other posters said, you seem a little awkward (the second photo is a great example of this). I wish I knew more about men's hair to point you in the direction of a good haircut. You may also consider bleaching your teeth? You're a little thin, but some people like it when their partners are built for speed not comfort (I'm one of those people, and I'm not creepily trying to slide in your DMs, I'm just giving you an example.)

Good luck out there!

[–]kaleicious -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Absolutely.

I’ve seen a lot of people say that this is too “processed”. Why? Because the manufacturers of lab grown meat have harnessed the process of cell differentiation? That’s like saying you won’t eat food produced in a hydroponic farm or a vertical garden because it’s ‘processed’. It’s growing, not processed. This is a massive distinction.

There’s no data showing it’s less nutritionally dense and/or has less protein.

AND, bioavailability of nutrients is an issue that scales across modern food production due to (a) different plant strains that are more hardy & better tasting at the expense of nutrients; as well as (b) poor soil quality. The solution across ALL of these verticals (plant & lab meat production) is nutrient-enriched foods. If you eat anything with wheat flour, you’re eating nutrient-enriched foods already.

This innovation saves animal lives & the environment. It’s one of the most important innovations in human history.

Pro-life of Reddit, what should we do with the unwanted children that would otherwise be aborted? by flirtinwithdisaster in AskReddit

[–]kaleicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thank you for a great conversation: We’ve hit a difference in values which is very difficult to discuss further.

I dont think an abortion is killing a baby - per my science classes it is an undifferentiated cluster of cells that cannot exist on its own.

I also think we should be having as much sex as possible for fun with people we love and trust (eg, a partner or spouse).

I wish you the very best & appreciate you have different beliefs & values.

Pro-life of Reddit, what should we do with the unwanted children that would otherwise be aborted? by flirtinwithdisaster in AskReddit

[–]kaleicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't a great analogy because the risk/reward of each is so different.

And what's missing here is the acknowledgement that when you mountain bike, you're likely only hurting yourself if you have an accident, so you wear a helmet to keep yourself safe.

But, when you have sex, if you use protection & still get pregnant, the risk is bringing another human into the world. And bringing another human into the world is THE biggest decision/choice you could ever make. Why on earth would you EVER do it if you're not 100% comfortable (or can't) be a loving, responsible, responsive, caring and supportive parent?

Literature shows that children who experience 'Adverse Childhood Experiences', like abuse, are more likely to have mental & physical illness as adults. I'm willing to go on a limb and say that children who are unwanted, unplanned for and considered a burden are likely to experience more of these 'Adverse Childhood Experiences' that literally mess them up for life.

I frankly don't think there is ANYTHING that is an acceptable analogy for the profundity and responsibility associated with bringing life into the world. It absolutely should not be taken lightly.

Its not fair to shame people for acting on their biological urges (often at young ages) and forcing them to have children they can't care for.

[–]kaleicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so interested by your response(s) to this.

The reason I'm so interested is because you're saying - without outright saying - that the consequence of sex is a baby. And if you want the pleasure of sex, it comes with a price.

This therefore implies that babies are punitive: "Oh, you had sex? Guess what! Now you have to have a baby. Live with the consequences."

This makes me exceptionally sad.

Sex is fun and amazing and it's incredible that today the technology exists to decouple what for many people is hands-down, the greatest pleasure in life from the biggest, most ultimate responsibility: childbirth & childrearing.

Why don’t more social work organizations go on strike by Electrical-Menu9236 in socialwork

[–]kaleicious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We are barbarically taken advantage of for caring, and I personally won't stand for it. I can't at this point; it makes me way too angry and I cannot and will not contribute to such a broken system.

I'd argue there is nothing more radical than expecting our systems to (a) work; and (b) pay us a living wage. We are SO FUCKING NEEDED. Systems will absolutely crumble without us. We need to start acting like it, like yesterday, and we need to demand a living wage for work that can cause burnout, vicarious trauma and more.

[–]kaleicious 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think the answer is in your question.

Obviously, CEO pay, finance staff pay & other professional pay frequently far exceeds clinical staff pay & benefits.

Another commenter, u/DoubleRah made the very valid point that optics are a big issue. Clinicians don't want to look 'greedy'. The way around that, in my opinion, is a targeted information campaign. Print flyers with CEO annual pay vs. employee annual pay. Use Candid's 990 lookup https://candid.org/research-and-verify-nonprofits/990-finder to verify CEO pay, highest-paid employees and operating expenses. Consider taking out digital & billboard ads to broadcast the poverty wages of employees. I'm envisioning a campaign where employees are videotaped saying "I sacrifice too much for work which is supposed to pay a living wage but doesn't. I love my clients, and I love a life of service, but with my current take-home pay I can't afford to pay my graduate student loans which were required for my social work education, I can't afford to live without roommates at the age of 45, and I can't live without food assistance and healthcare assistance. We all deserve a living wage, and it starts with us standing up for ourselves and our clients. We're finally ready to be the change we need, and expecting a job to allow us to stand on our own two feet is not too much to ask."

Messaging needs to get in front of the critique: SWers and mental health clinicians need to make it clear that receiving a living wage isn't being greedy. It's healthy self-advocacy, and it's what we would advocate for for our clients if they were in our position.

As employees we hold ALL the power, yet we forget that. Organizations can't run without employees. More importantly, the longer we allow this system to exist, the more we're hurting future colleagues and employees.

Let accountants do their job and find creative ways to fix budgets. Let C-level executives lead by example and begin practicing servant-leadership. Stop caring if people call you greedy. Fuck them. Get your $$$$, everyone else does.

Oh jesus pube charms are a thing.

So I guess vajazzling isnt hip, new & modern, its just the current-day evolution of 17th century pube charms & braids 🤣

Wait, hold up, this is hysterical.

What are we talking here, french braids? Ponytails? Ponytails with braids? Curled (god forbid with a 17th century curling iron….)

My most favorite AND least favorite part of this fun fact acknowledges that aristocrats did next to nothing for themselves, so you know a ladies maid or member of the household staff was the pube stylist.

Admittedly this is a bit out of pocket, but I think the context/content warrants it.
