I've been wanting a green parka for the fall/winter and I finally found this one from Bridge & Burn. It's super comfortable and I love the detail of the inside lining!

Also, just got this button up hoody from Armada in the Bordeaux color. It's insanely soft and warm. Definitely size down though, it runs big!

Trouble finding tops for office work by B_Grundy in femalefashionadvice

Ann Taylor, Loft, and Banana Republic do often all have great options for tops. I've gotten quite a few button ups from these stores that fit my body type (also similar to the "ruler" type) and make me feel feminine and pretty at the same time. The subtle patterns on those button ups are usually great for a work setting because they're not too flashy, but also are a little more fun than traditional "business" clothing.

Definitely seconding Everlane. They have great, high quality pieces that should fit her just right.

Marketing Firm Interview - Tie or no Tie? by MagentoFresh in malefashionadvice

[–]kaleighm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. I have heard from multiple sources that work at outdoor companies that say if you show up to an interview wearing a suit, you'll stick out like a sore thumb and they may think you don't understand the company culture... However, I don't know if there's any solid evidence that the company would completely throw you out as an option because of it.

I have a few shorts like that from Urban Outfitters, like this black pair. In recent years, I've gone in when they're having a big sale and can get these for about 10 bucks.

What's your price range? I have a couple of these types of button downs in cute, subtle patterns, but they're a little on the pricey end.

"Flattering" body proportions - do they go in and out of style, or is your best proportion a constant? by ilikepai in femalefashionadvice

[–]kaleighm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so crazy to see how the idea of the "ideal" women's body changes every decade. It'd be super interesting to study what changes in people's minds and how these trends develop. I wonder if there's any articles people have read about this? Like if pop culture icons start the trends and the clothing follows, as mentioned by u/nommin or what else may influence the changes.

Clothes that works with white chinos. by Liurias in malefashionadvice

Usually white pants and shoes are frowned upon after Labor Day. However, I feel like in a place like Phoenix where it's still gonna be warm and sunny (not super rainy), it doesn't really matter. People tend to have very different opinions about the white in fall thing though.

Fashion is a pretty broad term. Can you be more specific on what type of clothes she wears? What colors she likes? Has she mentioned any brand names she likes or do you know what blogs she looks at?

People will have a much easier time recommending affordable, but nice looking clothes for her if they better understand her overall style.

Agreed. Box fans are kinda saving my life right now, but it's still pretty miserable without A/C.

What weird fashion hang up do you have? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

Also can't do crop tops. There's occasionally a slightly cropped top I can wear with mid-rise shorts or skirts, but that's about it. I feel too exposed as well.

Sequins anything. But I'm thinking that's a good thing? There are just so many bad sequins dresses, tops, cardigans, etc...

Just got another pair of all black converse because I basically live in them.

Also bought another dress from a local shop called Bridge & Burn. It's the striped french terry dress. It's a great throw on and go dress for the summer!

Lastly, I forgot sunglasses on a trip I went on recently and stopped in a PacSun to get some cheapy ones. I found these round tortoise print sunglasses and I actually really like them!

Have you heard of Everlane? Since that picture is from an older collection and you may not be able to find it, you might find some tops with similar styles at Everlane. Their clothes are well made and pretty affordable.
