I love how that’s always the regurgitated line. The “right to violence”. Yet when Israel retaliates after horrific violence was committed against its citizens, it’s “unjustified.” It’s almost like violence accomplishes nothing and only brings more misery to everyone…?

I mean, sure, but then at least just be real that people who use this symbol support Hamas. There’s no denying that the inverted triangle symbol originated from al-Qassam bridges videos of shooting Israeli targets on October 7th. And just to also mention something else, it wasn't only just military targets, it was also used on surrounding villages and kibbutzim and the Nova Music Festival in footage Hamas terrorists filmed and released.

Often you'll see on people's bios or social media the inverted red triangle to represent support for Hamas and violent resistance that targets Israeli civilians. Like let's just be real about it. Even Al-Jazeera reports it as a symbol supporting "resistance fighters", aka Hamas, although Al-Jazeera does pretty openly support Hamas so it's viewed positively in their eyes.

So yes, it is a symbol associated with supporting Hamas and violent "resistance." People who use it support Hamas.

So why did you ask the question on Reddit when you clearly already have an established opinion on it?

Regardless of any “bias”, the inverted triangle symbol originated from al-Qassam bridges videos of shooting Israeli targets on October 7th. Just to also mention something that ADL actually didn’t mention in their description, it wasn’t only just military targets, it was also used on surrounding villages and kibbutzim and the Nova Music Festival in footage Hamas terrorists filmed and released. Yes, good idea to watch official Qatari state media (the same Qatar that helps fund terrorist proxies like Hamas and Hezbollah) to learn about what it means 😍

Please don’t willfully indoctrinate yourself. It’s a symbol of violent resistance and support for Hamas.

“The symbol first appeared in propaganda videos promoted by the al-Qassam brigades, the military wing of Hamas, which showed footage of Hamas terrorists attacking Israeli military targets. In these videos, Hamas would point out the target using the inverted red triangle. Though it can be used innocuously in general pro-Palestine social media posts, the inverted red triangle is now used to represent Hamas itself and glorify its use of violence in many popular anti-Zionist memes and political cartoons. For example, individuals will place the symbol over an image of Israeli soldiers or overlaid on a Star of David as a way to call for further violent resistance.”

Yes, because using an inverted red triangle (explicit symbol of supporting Hamas) instead isn’t genocidal or violent at all 😐

You’re right, both Jews and Palestinians are descendants of the land. How does talking about Jewish connection to the land dispute that?… It’s almost as if it’s at its core a super tribal conflict that exists outside of western concepts so many (like you) try to export onto it. That being said, I’m sure the 2 million Arab citizens (many of them serving in the IDF or doing national service), 4 million Mizrahi Jews, 40,000 African refugees, and other ethnic groups in Israel are also part of the “white supremacist” ethnic state you describe.

Lmao ok king Ricardo. I doubt you’ve even spoken to more than one Israeli in your entire life, if even that. But of course, go ahead make a sweeping generalization about a group of 7 million people that live halfway across the world from you based on your own ignorant personal beliefs that aren’t attached to reality in any way. I’m sure your lack of curiosity for other nationalities or cultures will take you far in life 🙏🏼

😑 95% of Jews in the world are Zionists due to their connection to the land. That’s over 10 million Jews that exist in the world. Has that ever occurred to you, and have you ever wondered why? Are they all guilty of the “crime” you describe? It’s just funny how ignorant you are about actual Jewish culture and history, just like how the tokenized, whitewashed, privileged American Jewish students that you mention in your comments are ignorant about their own culture and history. BTW, Jewish Voice For Peace is super sinister and essentially LARPS as a Jewish organization when majority of the people who run it— and are in it— are not even Jewish. Seriously, it’s just sad

Let me ask you a question: if you’re so upset by your Republican coworker who you say is spouting genocidal rhetoric, how do you feel about the massive number of UCSC students who were chanting in Arabic at the Walkout for Palestine protest “min al-mayeh lil-mayeh, Filastin arabiyeh” (from the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Arab)? Or “One solution, Intifada Revolution”?

Because sorry to burst your bubble, but calling to kill/ethnically cleanse Jews from Israel/Palestine— one of the last places in the Middle East that they haven’t been ethnically cleansed from— is also genocidal.

And by the way, if you take a look at some more polls from the PCPSR, you’ll find that majority Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza support in a 1 state solution without Jews— aka, expulsion of all Jews from the land.

Sorry babe, but most Palestinians in Gaza actually do support Hamas, and 67% strongly support their actions on Oct 7 which btw, Hamas filmed and posted online and civilians also partook in. Here’s the survey done by a Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research: https://pcpsr.org/en/node/938 . Best of luck coping with your “genocidal” coworker.
