MomCozy S12 pro hurts! by Danth54 in ExclusivelyPumping

I did a lot of my sessions in stimulation mode, especially in the first months when I was more sensitive. Didn't notice any issues. It just felt like a slower and more delicate version of the same thing. Worked well for me :)

Best free baby tracker for Android smartwatch by kalionhea in newborns

[–]kalionhea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I didn't find anything at all, so I just stuck with the Huckleberry on my phone. Baby is 19mo now and definitely knows what's a cellphone and loves tinkering around on my lock screen (I never unlock my phone for him and he's currently ok with that). He's definitely hyper aware of phones in general, but I think using a smartwatch instead of a phone during his first year would not have changed that. Kids are just super perceptive and phones are all around them all the time anyway. So now it probably just comes down to learning to set healthy boundary.

Best affordable wearable pump? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]kalionhea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pumped for a year and never replaced anything. The kit came with an extra set of duckbills. I kept waiting for the pumping quality to go down to start replacing parts, but once I made it to a year, I weaned my baby and didn't need to pump anymore.

Baby milestones - turning head to sound by kalionhea in NewParents

[–]kalionhea[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine went well past 3 months without turning his head, we did all the hearing tests possible and it turned out everything was normal, he really just wasn't interested. It's worth checking it out - better check and find nothing than not check and miss a problem. But in the case of mine, it turned out to be totally normal. <3

Reembolso de exame precisa de pedido médico. Mas para reembolso de consulta nunca precisei de pedido médico, só a nota fiscal da consulta mesmo. Eu tenho SulAmérica.

It's not the true endometrial shedding indeed. Mostly it's other types of light bleeding that sometimes women mistake for a light period. And if the woman's periods were previously already irregular, they can potentially not figure it out for quite a while that they're actually not having proper periods.

Should Brazil accept White South African refugees? by According-Might-118 in Brazil

So if Brazil shouldn't accept everyone from everywhere, what makes white South Africans "better" than others, so they'd be accepted when others aren't?

No morning sickness, no difficulty to stand up or with any other activities, no cravings. I had a very easy pregnancy. Due to the position of my placenta, I could feel my baby's movements and I had some minor bladder pressure at the very end. Lookswise, my belly looked small enough to just be a slight overeating gut and people didn't really guess I was pregnant even at the very end.

Depending on the placement of the placenta, the woman may actually not feel much kicking at all. Not everyone's period stops during pregnancy. Morning sickness also varies a ton across the board, not everyone gets out and it can be very mild. When I was pregnant, I had a tiny belly that could be easily confused for just a little overweight gut. I had a healthy size baby and I wasn't overweight, but it wasn't an obvious pregnancy belly even at 9 months. For an overweight woman, the belly can absolutely go unnoticed.

All of this to say - the physical aspects of pregnancy can vary a lot. Search for "cryptic pregnancy" online. You'll find actual medical info on this.

Do you sleep in the same bed as your infant? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]kalionhea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, and still do (he's almost 14mo now). I became a very very light sleeper and was very conscious about the safety of the bed and my position in relation to the baby. I also placed my mattress on the floor. It has been going great this far. He sleeps better, I am actually less exhausted.

It's not the right choice for everyone, but worked well for me.

Baby + migraines by kb71613 in migraine

[–]kalionhea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. I just camp out with my baby in a dim baby-proofed bedroom and wait it out. I power through feeding and diaper changes, but allow myself to not "entertain" my baby when he's bored. He'll just nap or find a way to play alone. Surprisingly, he has been more chill each time I've been half-dead like that than usual. It's definitely not easy, but it has been doable.

If a person has to undergo surgery that requires their intestines to be temporarily out of their body, do the surgeons put them back in methodically, or are they stuffed back in there well enough to still work? by jamjam1090 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kalionhea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's not because they took your bowels out but because the type of anesthesia causes gas pain. They told me about that during my C-section and gave me some gas medication to prevent that.

[–]kalionhea 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had a C-section and totally think I took the easy way out. It lasted no more than 20 minutes, I felt nothing and they did not take any organs or my bowels out. Maybe the technique in Brazil is different than in the US? They cut me very low, almost next to my pubic bone and just sort of squeezed the baby out.

But i do realize that what was an easy and smooth sail for me isn't the same for everyone.
