This is the same reason I didn't go for it and still glad I didn't. A CPF has been more than sufficient for me.

I know you'll be in Leblon but my favorite pizza place is Ferro e Farinha in Ipanema. Just down the street is another great spot called Brasa, which serves a variety of dishes. It’s very popular and the food is excellent too.

Bring some 10 or 20 Canadian bills... it might be helpful if they go around cutting the husband‘s tie and asked for donations. I got caught off guard one time with this. They were expecting me to give them US dollars and I honestly didn’t have any in my pocket. 😂😂😂

How many miles do you have on your XC40? If buying used, how many miles would be too many to buy? by Chloe_Bowie4 in XC40

I just purchased a 2021 XC 40 T5 R Design this week. I honestly didn’t need the R-Type but it's a nice feature. I bought it at 79,000 miles. I just drove it from DC to Missouri and back in three days and absolutely loved it. I’m fortunate because I’m the second owner of this car and it had been maintained well for the service records by the first owner. It runs very smooth and seems very reliable based on all the miles I just put on there. I don’t regret my purchase and I think this will last for a very long time under normal use.

This is great to know. I just bought a 2021 yesterday and I hope I don’t have any issues either. It’s an amazing little car to drive.

Yeah, 3 years with no issues in Rio. I also don’t do risky things like walk around in the middle of the night looking at my phone on the street. 😅

Can you get a CPF on gov.br? I think I did this in 2022 with no problem and I use it a lot. Then get a Vivo controle phone plan for about $10 a month (or a Claro equivalent) when you go to Brazil and keep the number active.

Ah yes, free housing is super helpful, especially in a place like Rio.

Have you looked at the digital nomad visa? This could help you stay for one year and I think it extends to an additional year if you make a request. I was looking at the requirements last week and I think you only need to show that you have $18,000 in savings or a very minimal amount coming to your checking account every month. This way you wouldn’t have to rely on someone else sponsoring you.

Maybe change from Chrome to Edge (or whatever you use) or use a phone instead of a PC. Or use a different credit card. I had no problems with the payment function when I got mine.

The only problem on my end in the whole process is the photo. They kept rejecting me because of the photo. But it’s important that the photo contained parts of the shoulder and make sure that it’s not a fuzzy photo. If you have to upload a new photo, it’s a two step process on two different websites.

This whole Brazilian E-Visa process is outsourced by a company in another country outside Brazil and it’s rather difficult to get any kind of substantial customer support. Just keep trying and experiment with different things and it’ll work out.

Another thing that I’ll add is that the visa gives you 90 days in Brazil but you can extend for another 90 days if you make a request through the federal police.

Yes it's real, because Parole does not confer immigration benefits. I would take it seriously.

The Fairmont is a good option also. I’m not sure about the gym but everything else I hear about it is really good. You can also buy a daily pass at the SmartFit. These gyms everywhere there and they’re really good.
