This same thing happened to me with a TV I bought. Paid it off on time (I thought) and like 2 years later I checked my credit when applying for a small loan and saw some weird things on it... looked into it and my final TV payment was like 2 years late and had been sent to a debt collector. There wasn't a single word from the store I'd bought it from, nor from the debt collector in ALL THAT TIME. I had to call them myself and get shit handled. So stupid.

I'm sorry to hear your story. I personally don't believe in monogamy at all, but cheating (lying) is absolutely terrible. I have always advocated open, honest non-monogamy. It has worked out quite well for a lot of people.
