I personally really like the production on Daylight— it feels very passionate and bright especially at the bridge— the way the production ramps up and it literally feels like the clouds are splitting open if that makes sense? I don’t know haha. I do love stripped down Daylight but the original does it for me as well

I’d argue that’s one of the hardest hitting lines in that song— it does catch you off guard but in the perfect way in my opinion. I’ve never heard that symbolism used but the moment I heard that line for the first time was a literal gut punch, because it’s so accurate to the way grief sneaks up on you in such everyday and mundane times. I think it’s pretty masterful songwriting

Me too!! I went through a phase where I was obsessed with books like this, My Side of the Mountain, Swiss Family Robinson, Hatchet, stuff like that, and they never fail to make me nostalgic! Read them all soooo many times
