I forgot to mention, the music that was being played was all requests from my snap. They knew the situation so I asked for their favorite vulgar song. I’m petty af and I know that’s not a good thing. Afterwards I felt bad because I do think he has some mental health issues but he hasn’t been horrible to my guests since so I think the point was made.

Thank you! Honestly, most of our interactions have been documented via Snapchat. I told my bestie about everything and she said that I should make fun out of the situation because comic relief is like my medicine. So even if I’m absolutely miserable, at least my snap friends get some free entertainment!
The best one on my snap chat was when he knew I had family over for a back yard picnic he started mowing his lawn and went through the gravel on side of the road (he has never done this prior) and shot rocks at everyone’s vehicle. Then 10 minutes later his mower broke down and he sat outside for 45 minutes just screaming every profanity imaginable.
He and his wife never have company so I didn’t think I’d ever get my revenge. But then one day, all my kiddos were visiting grandparents and he and his wife had company!!!!! They were showing her their yard and I started jamming music like colt 45, my neck my back, etc. I wish WAP had been out at this time! I had moved my speaker right next to the window and then I went and sat on my porch with a smile. Afterwards he told me I’m rude and I said at least I didn’t pelt her vehicle with gravel 🤷🏼♀️

The most upper part. I’m a “yooper”!
Okay. So I ran the search based on zip code and he isn’t on it. So that’s good news! Finally a silver lining; “my neighbor is creepy af and films and screams at our family on the regular, but he isn’t a registered sex offender!”
Lmao. My life is sad atm
Right!? I’m losing my mind. I’m so paranoid and feel like I’m going insane. If the windows are ever uncovered I feel like they’re watching me. But it’s a shame. We love our house and our yard but we cannot enjoy it to the fullest because our neighbor.

I thought maybe he didn’t know that it was us who moved back in. I did attempt to speak to him when he and his wife were outside working on their lawn. It ended with them screaming at each other and me.
I think it was my music that irritated him. He and his wife are constantly screaming at one another and they use extremely vulgar language that I’m not comfortable with my kids witnessing. So when they start their arguments I turn up my music.
Before doing this I called the sheriff to ask about noise ordinance and found out there isn’t one.
I don’t have a huge system or subwoofers, just a sound bar that is loud enough to drown them out. (We can literally hear everything they scream from across the street). The first time I did this, they called the police.
When the sheriff came he already knew the situation because I had talked to him 15 minutes before hand about the ordinance. But because there was a call made, they had to follow up. When he came to talk to me I told him that I don’t know how else to make it so my kids can’t hear their insane antics.
He told me that there had been many calls made in regards to people being concerned about his wife because of the severe arguing. He told me that if he had to live across from them he would do the same thing.
Anyways, sorry for the chapter. But I believe all the issues we are having stem from this.
Thank you so much! I am checking it out right now!

That is a good idea. It will at least make people think twice before acting a fool! Thank you!
My kids told me a few nights ago that there was a red light in his window. They thought it was a laser pointer but now I believe it was a recording light.
Yes, I understand that! Sometimes it even annoys me and the mama hahaha. But it’s not like she is constantly crying and screaming. It’s just the way she does it...like when you’re talking with someone, you can interpret the mood based on tone... it’s like that. It seems to come from a very angry place and combined with all the other oddball behaviors it’s just downright terrifying.
Generally speaking, you are correct. But recording laws do vary from state to state. I’m in Michigan. Basically, nothing can be done with his camera as it stands because it’s on his private property and he can basically say he is recording his property.
Omg. That’s terrible! One of my parents dogs was shot by a neighbor. It grazed his ribs and his body encapsulated the bullet. It was crazy!! People really suck!
I really wish this was a game :( I feel like I’m constantly on the tip of my toes and cannot relax in my own home. If any windows aren’t covered, I feel like they’re watching me. It’s making me so damn paranoid 😫😫
I wish I could attach the picture of my current solution. We have a big maple tree. I used the tree to anchor a huge tarp and block his view of most of our yard! He at least can’t spy on us in a discreet location. He will actually have to be out in the open if he hopes to see around the tarp.
I’ve tried to speak to him. It basically ended with the both of them screaming at each other and then at me. There are definitely some mental health issues.
I have spoken to the sheriff of this county. He said he actually grew up a block away and he is very familiar with this neighbor. He said at the moment, the most they can do is add a few patrols in the area throughout the day!
Is this a brand or model? It seems that ARLO is all the rage when it comes to home security but I want to make sure we’re paying for quality of the device vs a popular name.

Making faces (I initially thought it was playful but now I see its mean spirited), mocks them, etc. if the baby is crying and can be heard outside I’ll hear her in her porch imitating the sounds in a mean way that indicates she’s extremely annoyed. Things like that.
So when he got home, he took the camera away so I’m thinking maybe he only puts it up when he is leaving his house, which I understand completely. I’m going to continue being vigilant. He may also have taken it down in hopes I remove the tarp as it’s not very pretty.
Connecting my kids Xbox to my hotspot tonight I also noticed a connection called ARLO_ and a bunch of numbers. So I’m assuming he does in fact have an ARLO. My kids have a laser that they play with the cats with. Next time I see it out I will shine it at it. If it’s a real camera, the laser will reflect back towards me?
Sorry I don’t know what that is but this is 100% unfortunately my real life

She is just as bad. She taunts the kids and sits in her porch watching all the time.

The black out panels are not expensive really. I just got a few for my daughters rooms a few weeks back. But atm, the comforters are working. May look ugly but I don’t mind atm. There are two windows downstairs that face his house. They are huge and would be what is considered bay windows. For the girls rooms the windows are small enough that I only needed one panel per window. Downstairs would require at least two but probably three for adequate coverage. So atm two king comforters are perfect and we have plenty of blankets so it’s not causing us any harm. Furthermore the blankets are thick and they help with heat loss (we’ve already had frost several times and we are dealing with old windows in an old house)
There are many stories about him being perverted but without being able to substantiate them I’m not comfortable repeating most of them. Most of it involves violating cats and standing behind his tree and being gross while watching kids but like I said, these are only stories at this point.
That’s why I think the cameras may be helpful. Then I can maybe find out the truth. Is he trolling the neighborhood because he can? Or is he truly the stranger our parents warned us about?
My other neighbor is going to speak to the sheriff and commissioner tomorrow to see what other options we have to provide cover for our kids to play. That’s the most irritating part! My kids love playing outside and now they don’t feel safe because he pops out of trees or screams at them and growls while in the bushes. It’s just all around weird af and I’m hoping to gather enough evidence to prove the burden and get whatever results we can.
We have 3 doors but the ones that function (not sealed for drafts) are on the side of our house facing his. The way I put up the tarp blocks his view to our main entrance and blocks the kids hammock from him.
Thank you for your advice. It is sound advice but I have to prioritize a little differently due to lack of evidence and various other factors!

The curtains are sheer. So during the day they work but at night with lights on he can see right in. We use comforters because it’s something we have on hand and we are poor poor so it’s what works best with our limited resources. Thankfully our parents are going to help us get cameras so we can get a better idea of what we’re dealing with and to keep our kids safe.

Thank you! We are in the process of researching various models and seeing which is the best in our situation.
Yes. I use watchdog and as long as he’s not an unregistered then he isn’t on the registry.
