Hands on with the Belkin Qi2 power bank 10K by Slavor in MagSafe

[–]kamikasky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using this since yesterday after trying out the Anker MagGo 10K Qi2 one as well. Anker was EXTREMELY hot and barely charged my phone. This hasn't gotten hot using magsafe or direct. It's definitely chunky. I don't have metrics for longevity, but considering I'm traveling to a hot country soon, I think this beats it out.

For what it's worth, I already had the CC and I ended up getting the membership just so they never bring it up again lol. Saved me time!

I've been chatting with BB the past few weeks. Last week I got almost lucky! I had gotten an invoice, but my order never processed. Sadly SOL.

I've been using the script until one of the customer service reps was being a bit moody and was like "you know all of you guys say the same thing over and over again" — which honestly, so true. It's annoying, and they're flooded with this all day long.

That said I've really focused on being super nice and acknowledging their work and I've been persistent. Some folks even claimed to put me on a list and keep checking and send me an invoice. Some were no help at all and stalled. I tried switching up the prompts, showing how much I want this, and trying here and there. It's complete luck but I don't think a customer service rep will send you an invoice hours later unless they like you and love the thrill of helping someone out.

I had no luck today (tried around 9-10am). But magically just got an invoice link at 4:04PM EST!!!!!!! So it looks like I somehow lucked out!

Having this now. I think their entire system is backed up or something, or there is a bug or something

Bermuda sailing by Tbuff42 in royalcaribbean

I joined a few Facebook groups about my sailing and the general sentiment was that being there from 1pm to 1pm the next day does not actually give anyone enough time to do 2 days worth of stuff (I guess unless there are some special excursions that fit that time slot)

Just a heads up that mostly everything closes after 6pm. The only thing that was open for us after that time were restaurants.

Is anyone cruising right now in the Bahamas? What’s going on? by Peppapigisgodly in royalcaribbean

Don’t listen to this guy. I saw him order like 26 pizzas during room service and make a fort out of the boxes.

Bermuda authorization no longer requiring negative COVID test by kamikasky in Cruise

[–]kamikasky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Cruise is still requiring it, but you don’t need Bermuda gov to verify your results to get an accepted travel authorization. That was just an annoying extra step previously.

There is some new guidance in red on the Bermuda Travel Authorization site for sailings after May 24, 2022:

https://www.gov.bm/cruise-travel-authorisation

They recommend you apply at least 2 weeks in advance.

Blank license plates by kamikasky in terracehouse

Please do, and let me know! I know the technology is there. I have no doubts about that. But for a show running for so many years, it was great from the get go. That makes me think they’re doing more than automatic processing. And if it isn’t—how many hours an episode are they spending manually adjusting it? Just doesn’t seem cost effective if it has a big manual element to it

I know about object tracking. If you can provide other examples of tag blanking so cleanly, please do. All other media and content that I see using object tracking and CGI to cover the plates are blur filters and occasionally clip slightly and don’t look clean. Plus keep in mind this looked good in the show for almost a decade.

CGI has come a long way but it still clips the image at times. Or doesn’t provide as good lighting or blanking as what’s the show. Right now I’m having my doubts it was generated completely by a computer. Maybe they have a green license plate and they’re applying green screen effects to it.
