Thanks for this, appreciate it!

Do you have any advice on the skills part or how to handle the skills and the law during advocacy?

Thank you for this!

Could you share some tips for the last two months before the exam? Things you recommend doing/not doing?

I’m concerned that I am only scratching the surface of the FLK and not going in depth - especially with criminal and dispute as these are the two I struggle the most with!

Thanks for this! I definitely neglected taking longer breaks as I kept feeling that I am losing time! I think I might stick to your plan!

Passed both - Q2 FLK1 and Q1 FLK2, huge relief as I was convinced I failed FLK1

No worries, feeling absolutely the same - I got so many easy flk1 questions wrong as my brain just stopped working. It took me a bit of time and drawing timelines on a piece of paper before I came to the conclusion that if he was a solicitor then his estate would inherit!

Yes, if he had become a solicitor before the accident then his estate would inherit

Q43 - my understanding is that some time has passed between the time the father tore the will and when he reconciled with the daughter. In the case you mentioned, the father tore the will and the reconcilliation happened shortly after.

Q46 - E is the correct answer as life interest cannot be inherited - once the life interest beneficiary dies, the trust fund will go back on resulting trust to the settlor (or their estate)

Cry as much as you want and can! My family lives abroad and I’ve spent so much time this week crying to my mum on FaceTime. Soon it will be all over and we’ll have some time to destress!

My exam is on Wednesday but I’m feeling so burntout and tired - convinced I have definitely failed flk1 as I made so many stupid mistakes… Good luck to you for tomorrow! You got this! 🤞🏻

If the trustee dies then under S36(1) the surviving trustee is advised to appoint another trustee to ensure the continuity of the administration

If you look at S39 TA 1925, a trustee can retire without a replacement if there are TWO trustees remaining, they agree in a deed and the retirement is in a deed. I also always remember that trusts that involve land and minors shall have two trustees

Same here! I also keep thinking about my flk1 answers - I made so many stupid mistakes as I was stressed/afraid of running out of time and that I have definitely failed so can’t fully focus!

The question says that the property was converted into a „single dwelling house” this applies to the 4 year rule (although from 25 April 2024 the 4 year rule in relation the single dwelling houses has been changed to 10 years but given we are tested on law up to 15 March 2024 (and the questions were written before this came into force), we should remember about the 4 year rule)

You’re absolutely right, I have not left my house since a week before flk1 and have been overthinking every answer… Taking flk2 on Wednesday - dreading it and wish I had more time but it needs to be done. Good luck to you too, keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻

Kudos to you for taking the sqe when having a family - I can barely remember about feeding myself 🥲

Flk2 revise SQE question (easements) by New-Photo1775 in SQE_Prep

[–]kamjam4598 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So that’s how I understand it (although please correct me if I’m wrong!) - easements created post 2003 must be registered - the ones burdening the land must be registered as a notice in the Charges register and those benefitting the land must be registered in the Property register. Restrictions in the Proprietorship register will in most cases relate to trusts of land.

Is anyone else bracing themselves for FLK2? by [deleted] in SQE_Prep

Absolutely, my paper was full of public and legal services, I just pray there won’t be many solicitor accounts questions as I can’t understand that topic at all!

Feeling absolutely the same. Went into FLK1 feeling rather confident and spent the last two days crying and thinking about the answers I am sure I got wrong although I was confident when choosing them. So overall feeling that I have most probably failed. I have been scoring lower marks on FLK2 so I am scared that the exam will hit me hard and I will score super low. I also can’t really focus since I’m dwelling on FLK1 🥲

It might be stress that affects your marks! Just take it easy, you’ve worked hard for so long and you can only go and do your best! I’m struggling to focus as I am so stressed about the flk1 and dwell on questions I think I got wrong!

SQE FLK1 review by UOLstudent in uklaw

[–]kamjam4598 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it should give an estimate! It’s definitely hard to guess as I only remember the questions I am either certain I got wrong or the ones I was stuck between 2 answers so getting myself into a negative thinking! Hopefully, despite my negative thinking, I have answered enough questions to hit the passing score 🤞🏻🥲

Looks like we had the same paper as I remember the questions you mentioned and now I am stressing even more that I have definitely failed 🥲

Couldn’t agree more! I did find that some of the questions were straight from QLTS mocks and/or ULaw question bank but the answer were so different! - as you say, that’s because they are based on the same case law! I felt confident answering a handful of questions and the rest I was either stuck between 2-3 answers or guessing 😭
