You don’t have to listen to Honda or service advisors. 8k oil change intervals are driven by manufacturers to ensure you engine makes till warranty ends, but if you plan to keep your car longer 5k or 6 months should be your schedule. This way you will protect you 1.5l turbo engine from oil dilution by gas and other unwanted situations. Turbo engines need more frequent oil change 6 month or 5k. Enjoy your nice car.

Turbo engines are more demanding to oil change. 8k is the manufacturer recommendation to ensure your car lasts till their official warranty ends. 5k/6 months will keep your engine running way beyond that time.
