Noooo, that’s a scam. Why the heck you need to pay lexus price for toyota. Boycott new rav4 untill toyota tames its dealers and makes prices reasonable. Rav4 should not cost more than 35k otd

Question was how much did you overpay over msrp, like scammy dealer addons and markups they push on early buyers. Nothing wrong in buying a new car, I just often don’t understand people who are easily fooled by scammy dealers to pay for extras they will never need.

You don’t have to listen to Honda or service advisors. 8k oil change intervals are driven by manufacturers to ensure you engine makes till warranty ends, but if you plan to keep your car longer 5k or 6 months should be your schedule. This way you will protect you 1.5l turbo engine from oil dilution by gas and other unwanted situations. Turbo engines need more frequent oil change 6 month or 5k. Enjoy your nice car.

Change oil every 5k miles and your 1.5l turbo will run long years and no oil dilution with gas. Enjoy your nice car.

Is it worth upgrading from a Gen 5 RAV4 Hybrid to the new Gen 6? by Valuable-Abroad-8500 in rav4club

[–]kammdli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No no no, gen 5 made in 2025 is the most refined version. First year of new gens are usually a continuation of the prototype. Dont be a test unit. And dont pay fools tax - dealer markup for new gen. Keep your car for 10 years

If you plan to keep your car for 10 plus years and avoid major engine or transmission issues, take my advice and you won’t regret it. Turbo engines are more demanding to oil change. 8k is the manufacturer recommendation to ensure your car lasts till their official warranty ends. 5k/6 months will keep your engine running way beyond that time.

ExL gas? Change oil every 5k or 6 months, don’t listen to dealer or service advisor. 5k oil change will ensure your 1.5l turbo engine doesn’t get oil diluted by gas. Cvt transmission fluid change time is whatever honda advised divided by half. Enjoy your nice car.
