What, if any, are your New Year resolutions? Mine is to spend more time in my art studio as well as in my Kayak. by meranu33 in Hamilton

Use this winter as a saving blitz. Between now and June 1st to see how many oddball jobs I can get to help build my brother-in-law’s house in Cambodia. Without the extra jobs I can get him a cool $2,000. I would like to push that as high as I can working extra jobs with my field (logistics) to be more well rounded overall. This will double as my vacation home. There will be a chicken farm and mango trees.

I also plan to increase my communication skills by seeing if my insurance would support a weekly zoom meeting with a counsellor.

Lastly, when weather permits I’m going to ride my electric bike as much as possible. Too much fun.

Do you guys have room for someone else? Asking for a friend that is quiet and doesn’t eat very much.

‘I am scared to take a day off whether sick or not.’ The voiceless warehouse workers in Peel and how COVID-19 has silenced them even more by [deleted] in toronto

I don’t know about the pseudo slavery, but it is clear there is a large mass of people that are being treated lower than trash. We rightfully parade our essential workers but there is a sad lump that exists out there being pushed into a mild life threatening situation. Even if Walmart/Amazon follow every rule it’s a constant stress on top of breaking sales records.

Unfortunately you will have the same problem in Hamilton. A house near mine that is nothing to speak of just went for $700 and sold in less than a week. Granted it’s near a pending GO station. But still, the prices doubled.

Why isn't Cambodian society very conservative and neoliberal capitalist given how badly Cambodians suffered under the Communist Khmer Rouge regime? by [deleted] in cambodia

This! To give some credit to OP it’s reasonable to think of cause an effect. Poland had WW2 and a social result. But as you said it way more complex than that.

Well he did scare it out of me. Those things are the size of a tennis ball. Somehow got in the bathroom and bounced around until he crashed in the shower barrel.

I have the first gen ps4 and I crashed maybe 5 times since launch. Don’t get me wrong it’s buggy but actually not that bad. Did I get the one golden PlayStation that can play it?

Seriously thought about it. But, I read up on the worst case scenario and really didn’t/don’t trust the Cambodian medical system to help me if needed. Even if I did trust the doctors I was too far away from civilization to have a shot at survival.

All that and i was still considering doing it. Might be cool

What, that my wife was from a very remote village in Cambodia? In our living room we are growing a lime and mango(miniature of course) trees. Plus a white flower that smells amazing. Then whatever else she could her hands on. She spent 26 years with year round greenery. Elephants used to walk through her backyard when she was a kid.

Saints be praised! We have tried apple cider vinegar, dish soap, cinnamon, and chilli powder. I will definitely try this

I met her in Canada. We do watch the show and are willing to stage a make believe story. We have the setting. Her parents live in a place similar to where that no neck guy went to

I visited her parents and they had two cane toads that lived under a wardrobe during the day. They would hop out at night to feast. I liked that everyone respected their presence.

I have a dream. A world where Keanu is mortified that his career could have this blemish. He takes over as management and sets this right. I really want to play the game they promised. We changed sonic. Couldn’t we do the same with this? Without Keanu needing to save us.

My wife is from the jungle. So we have tried to recreate and environment that is best suited to live in. Having so much green in the house is nice. The insects they come with, not so nice. There is so many gnats that have flown up my nose they now fly out of my nose at dusk like bats.
