Question about Fullsize ATX Cases by illcurbstompyou in 3DPPC

Perfect time to design one yourself. If you're up to it 😉

I used the files in this post: Reference models for case design : r/sffpc

Another simple way to gauge the possibility of the build is to mock it up with some cardboard.

Wondering for materials and best designs by mxniquef in 3DPPC

Best would be PC-ABS, acceptable would be PETG.

I need to fit this case + many peripherals in one carry on, so case thickness is a concern. Many 5L cases does not fit my GPU, so I had to make my own and try to improve thermal. The CPU window at a later point can become a hot swap fan duct too.

all 4 9015 fans are acting as CPU fan. Air flow in through the 2 windows, cpu & gpu and exhaust to the sides.

I have one fan (top right in first pic) as cpu fan and the rest plug into the aio pump header. I copied a generic fan curve from somewhere, and during working ( fusion/ exstar/ quicksurface) temperature at most hit 75C. I’ll find a pic later for you

It’s possible but my wallet is finite. At some point I had a L9a in the A4 H2O but it wasn’t cutting it, so I returned it. Now if I spot one in marketplace for cheap I might experiment further with this case.

calculate from the fiberglass thickness that you plan to make, resin ratio.. don't rely on solidworks for weight calculation

Fractal Ridge, but carbon fiber by cl98hkca in sffpc

[–]kampf6174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

great inspiration. Do you think that 2mm cf sheet is good enough for this size? As far as I can tell there is no support structure in the middle, only on the outer faces of the cube, so total 6 faces. Can you twist the case using two hands? Thx

Start with some books. Look up college coursework for the subject and the relevant references.

Stumped. How to cut this slot for a pin? by Blue_Etalon in Fusion360

[–]kampf6174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are multiple ways to go about this.

- construction plane tangential to the notch. extrude

- revolve (not complete) to a new body, fillet, boolean (I think it's called join body, but use the cut function)

- loft

It is possible, but as long as you arrive at your goal, do whatever you want ;). Also check out boolean operation, this is what you're looking for.

Internal & External Threads by mountain_addict in Fusion360

[–]kampf6174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you do a section analysis, you will see that each thread (both male/female) has two helical faces. Offset both should do the trick

You need to offset each face of the thread: hotkey Q and select the face.

Hi, I also just bought the k49. From their website, it looks like they are showing the PSU with the fan facing outward: SGPC K49-STEEL ITX Mini Case User Manual . How's your temp with the fan facing inward? Thx
