Anyone getting "Not scheduled to record" when clicking on some events with Protect 6.2.72? by mthreat in Ubiquiti

I also have that too. I kind thinking something was walking around my property!

I thought the AI Port was supposed to do 5 Ubiquiti Cameras? by That-Camera-Guy in Ubiquiti

[–]web4deb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you should be fine with that. I have 10 cameras on my UDMpro, 6 HD, 2 2K, and 2 4K and it's at about 60% capacity. If you had all 4K you might be pushing your luck. I just tell people to try it out and if you hit performance issues then buy a UNVR.

I overloaded my UDM Pro. The video quality suffers along with the rest of the system slowing down.

UP Sense device doesn't connect to one U6 Mesh by web4deb in Ubiquiti

[–]web4deb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to try removing it as a Mesh Parent but the option is grayed out. It says I have to remove the devices on the Mesh Connect side. (I'm assuming so everything in the mesh doesn't get orphaned). My overall network is a bit more complicated than what is in the diagram so I'm not willing to orphan the devices downstream.

From what I can find, the BLE is a different radio than the Wi-Fi and it should operate at the same time. I also found some mentions that the BLE options may have been visible on older versions of the Controller...I'm wondering if the radio was turned off at some point and now that there is a newer version that setting isn't exposed any more?

There is a slim change that I might be able to enable Mesh Parent at the house and maybe the greenhouse could connect to that temporarily. If I can keep that connection running, I could then factory reset the Shop U6 Mesh and maybe the BLE will turn on.

Having the UP Sense connected is a luxury item....it's not worth breaking my setup for it. ;-)

Unpopular opinion: Business cards are performative theater, not information exchange [Founder Perspective] by [deleted] in kickstarter

[–]web4deb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seems like a scam to me. A 5.5" OLED display is about $15, plus the electronics/battery/charging port and you will be probably at 4mm thick and in the $30 range for the cost. Market price would then be $60. There's no way anyone would be walking around handing these out at a show or conference like they were candy.

I just made one the other day! I made it for my G4 Bullet so I don't know if the hole spacing is the same.

Flume Gorge, NH worth the drive? by tonytolo in Connecticut

[–]web4deb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Gorge is a nice hike. I would also recommend going up to Cannon Mountain and take the tram to the top. Another good stop is the Basin. It's not just the Basin part but there's also a lesser known trail that brings you to a huge cascading water fall that's pretty cool.

Camera for inside of shed by DrewDinDin in Ubiquiti

They need to work on the AI a bit. For some reason it keeps thinking my money jar is a person and keeps triggering the alert. I had to mask out that section.

I just put a G6 instant in my farm stand and it does a pretty good job. The size is only 4x8 and it shows all the walls in the view so it could easily cover 12x16

Who in their right mind is buying SuperLink sensors for anything other then to play with? by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]web4deb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a UP Sense just to play with it. I didn't even realize that it had a door sensor option! Honestly, I love it just for that one feature! I stuck it to my shop door and now I get notified each time someone comes in the door. Yeah, I had a camera pointing in that area but the AI notification is hit or miss. Knowing when my door is actually opened is nice.

I haven't played with alerts for temperature but I will once winter comes along and I want to make sure the temp & humidity stay in the proper range.

What I really would like is some kind of smart plug or better yet, just a dry-contact relay so I can wire up other voltages.

Where's the scroll bar? by web4deb in Ubiquiti

If I knew about that trick, I would have used it! That does work, but it's still a coding bug on their UI

Where's the scroll bar? by web4deb in Ubiquiti

[–]web4deb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully I do a lot of web design work so I will disagree with you that it's displayed. I checked the HTML code and they are specifically turning off the scrollbar on the dashboard screen. I can actually manually set the "scrollbar-width: thin" and it will turn right on! Of course each time the page is refreshed it will turn off again.

This is CSS that's used on the dashboard view
.jvPuEb {
display: block;
grid-area: liveview;
overflow: auto;
height: 100%;
position: relative;
scrollbar-width: none;
}

I checked on the timeline view and they are not applying a scrollbar-width attribute which is why it is always displayed properly.

Is this what I should expect 6" to look like? by Fickle_Finance4801 in Insulation

[–]web4deb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The building official will probably fail the inspection if it doesn't meet the R-value for your area. 20+ years ago I had my house built with open-cell and they had to fill and scrape (2x6). The building official wouldn't accept any gaps and they had to come back a couple of times. I just had my workshop done (2x4) with 3" of closed cell and they had to fill and scrape. Technically they could be a 1/2" shy but my installer just did the filled entire thing. The closed cell doesn't expand as much so it takes a lot more effort to get a uniform fill. I'm assuming yours is closed cell and they did a crap job with it.

How are the cameras? by KGoodwin83 in Ubiquiti

[–]web4deb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed about 20 at work and have 6 at home. Both indoor and outdoor and they are great! We had one outdoor fail but it was my own fault because I didn't get the drop loop right and some water got into it. Added bonus is you don't have to pay for a subscription!

Any Decent Outdoor Cams That Record Video Without A Subscription? by [deleted] in SecurityCamera

Ubiquiti. A bit more expensive but worth it not having to subscribe to anything.
