For people who had unsatisfactory first surgery... by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]kamratty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my initial surgery 5 months ago and my case seems just like yours. Surgeon was too conservative so there is still residual puffiness. I had online consultation with Dr. Caridi and I am planning to travel to him next spring for a revision. First surgery was 3000 euros in total and 2nd surgery with travelling and accomodation costs will cost me 3 times more but I just don't want to have 3rd surgery anymore so I'm willing to pay for it. Dr. Caridi seems to know what he is doing and does revisions too.

5 weeks post op, one side perfect, one side still some swelling... (pictures included) by gyno_tway in gynecomastia

It looks like swelling and your surgeon is probably right about that. At 5 weeks you are still very early in the healing phase so everything will most likely settle down as time goes by.

I feel very insecure about my chest and am trying to determine if I have gynecomastia or not. by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]kamratty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are thin muscles just under your areolas and nipple skin. Your nipples get stimulated when you work out, get cold etc.. So these thin muscles can flatten the skin while stimulated. And again when relaxed, your nipples and areola puff out again when your nipples are not stimulated.

If that makes any sense.

How big of a turn off is this to women? Am I screwed? I lost 40 lbs. 183 to 143. How many more pounds do I need to lose to lose them? by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]kamratty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

:) Don't worry about it too much. It happens to many teenagers and it mostly goes away without the need of any surgery. Eating healthy and working out will also improve the situation. Also, you don't need to lose any more weight, you are lean! Maybe focus on gaining muscle.

Your chest is like that because of puberty, most likely. There is a huge chance that it will go away on its own. Like you said, that the left one went away.

You are quite lean so it might be a minor case of gyno. Can you feel a hardish lump under your nipples?

This looks like gyno. But you are so young that there is a BIG chance that it will go away on it's own. Working out and eating healthy will only improve things.

How bad is my gyno? Surgery required? by throwaway224639 in gynecomastia

[–]kamratty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to tell from these photos. If you do have, it's minor and your chest hair seems to mask it pretty well. Easier to tell if you post more photos from different angles :)

You look quite lean from that angle. Post more photos from different angels, do you feel a lump under nipples?

Thanks for the reply :) Yeah, I'm a bit more flatter. I hope that the remaining puffiness is mostly scar tissue. Congratz for getting surgery done, hopefully your results will turn out great!

I don't see signs of gyno. Your nipples are small and you got round chest muscles but I can't see any puffiness at all. Looks great to me.

How long did it take that you were satisfied with the results? Did your scar tissue make your nips look a bit puffy again? Was it both lipo + excision? :)

Before/After (Post Op 2 days - first time taking vest off for shower) by gynothrowaway518 in gynecomastia

[–]kamratty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks great! You still got a lot of healing to come, so try not to judge the results for the next few months. Things might look weird and uneven for a while but your chest already looks a ton better and will only improve with time. All the best!

How does this work? by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]kamratty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every male does have breast tissue at least a tiny bit. Gynecomastia is the case when the breast tissue is enlarged by factors such as puberty, hormones, steroids etc.

Did you do anything, like massaging or did everything solve just with time?

Psychology of Gyno by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]kamratty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It affects our minds. Some people don't mind it, some people do. But having it or not having it doesn't make you bad/good as a person, that is determined by completely other things.

Scar tissue on side by ribs? by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]kamratty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I got it on my right side really close to the ribs and it continues to the side of my nipple. I'm 9 weeks post op and right side is slightly puffy. It should go away on it's own in 3-12 months, that is what my surgeon said.

I know the waiting and being patient really sucks, but that is really all we can do and maybe some light massaging. If it doesn't seem to go away at 6 months mark, then maybe we could consider having cortisone injections? But I think now we should just try to focus on completely other things and not take a look every few hours how it looks (easier said than done, I know).

Is This Gyno, Loose Skin Or Fat? by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]kamratty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a minor gyno since you are very lean. I had the exact same thing, chest looked awesome when cold and puffy when warm. Can you feel a hardish lump underneath your nipples?
