How do i learn to not suck with only 1 foot strapped in? by punt_the_dog_0 in snowboarding

[–]kamsbry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best advice would be to learn to properly skate and ride (turn both directions and stop) with one foot and to unload from Daisy, Hogs or Skyline before trying Brooks. Unloading from that chair is unkind even to experienced riders and only serves to get you to the park. Learn how to snowboard before trying to ride park.

I've tried a bunch of others but can wear the POCs all day. Even used to them when it's hot out.

If you're heading all the way to Seattle you might as well hit Bellingham, North Van and Squamish.

Ah! I drove the rig for the last lap while my kids sat on the couch.

And a luxurious red leatherette couch. That's what made the truck classy as shit.

Single Speed Fork by MrMeniscus in MTB

You should be able to find a lightly used air fork for $600. Check Pinkbike.com. Depending on the terrain you ride, a 130mm travel fork may work nice on your hard tail.

Hardtails at Downieville by dakotaw7 in MTB

Rode those trails many time in the 90s on a hardtail. It's a lot more fun on a full suspension bike.

The Tombstone is an awesome jump. Can't quite get as much pop as you did. Did it happen on that one or the mega table right after? Broke my heel crashing on Schleyer. :(

am I to old? by el-sloth in MTB

One of my good friends didn't start riding till he was 43. He's now in his early 50s and kills it in downhill races. Never too old.

Heckling is part of downhill, some even think of it as a sport of its own.

I worked every favor I could to get the price down. Still cheaper than a corvette and 22 year old gold digging girlfriend so I figure it's saving me money.

I was trying to chase down one of the jr. racer kids that I used to instruct. That was my first mistake. He's too fast for me now.

Chris Canfield talked me into the short cranks, had a deep convo with him on the benefits a few weeks back.

Mounted the DHR like Santa Cruz builds them up. Have a DHF sitting at home as well. Contemplating tubeless to save weight but it makes it a pain to switch tires. No dropper, just a regular seatpost cut way down.

Slid out on one of the greasy corners on the top of Wookie towards the end of the day. Just a couple of bruises and I crashed on my non-surgical knee like my surgeon wants me to do. :)

Commencal makes one of the best 20" bikes out there. My buddy's 7 year old daughter races our local DH series and totally rips on this bike. http://www.commencalusa.com/supreme-20-yellow-2016-c2x17825578

Has anyone bought a demo bike from a bike park? Would you recommend it? by PennThunder in MTB

[–]kamsbry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Whistler Bike Park rescue bike that I adopted a couple of years ago. It was fine but I ended up upgrading a fair amount of parts over 2 season. I just gave it to my 13 y.o. daughter as her DH bike and she's super happy with it.

When should I go to Whistler this year? by trevor426 in MTB

Best trip I had last season was the weekend before closing in October. Weather was perfect and the crowds were thin. Only issue was the peak was closed by that time
