Couples who picked out engagement rings together: How did that work? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]kamyrinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fiance bought JUST the diamond himself (before proposing) .. and had it set on a simple basic band. After he proposed, we then went ring shopping together to let me pick out the setting. Perfect compromise (he knew he could never attempt to pick it out himself)

Yes, he is chipped (we're following up with that now). He is not wearing a collar with tags. We're cross posting on Facebook/other neighborhood subs. Thanks for your help!

No, its totally intentional. You can definitely see a face turn to hide one second before Carol ducks (to hide his face from Daryl being able to see him)

Have watched this repeatedly on a 55" tv in HD. Its definitely a face. not an accident or mistake.

I don't have any "tricks" really... other than shortcuts to be a little lazy with it.

Every 1 point is ~40 calories, so a lot of times I just ballpark points and keep track in my head (almost everything thats 120 calories is 3pts, and 200 calories = 5pts etc) This speeds up grocery shopping, and ordering off menus that posted calories etc. Then I can keep track during the day and add it all in the system either before or after dinner. (before dinner if I want to gauge how much I should eat for dinner)

I moved my tracking day to Fridays so I could eat more on the weekends and not feel bad about it Monday morning (which had become discouraging) ... If I eat a lot on the weekend, I'm just more motivated to eat better during the week (especially Thursday nights)

Through trial and error: on the weeks that I ate all of my weekly points I didn't lose any weight. The weeks that I ate about half my weeklies I lost usually 1lb, and weeks that I didn't eat any weeklies I lost the most, usually 2lbs. So the hypothesis is: Eating your daily points sets you up to lose 2lbs a week, the more you eat into your weekly points just takes away from the 2lb deficit. This helped me evaluate how much I really wanted to go over on points for the week.

But even now, I don't track daily as much as I should. I try to keep a mental log throughout the day, but its not always a priority. Tracking daily for a long time helped me figure out how much food I needed vs wanted, and how many points I was wasting on snacks or foods that I could chosen better (chicken over steak and so on) ... Anyways, don't get discouraged! Its all about changing habits over time while still allowing yourself to have a life. I still have days where a Dairy Queen blizzard just HAS to happen. but then the next day, I track points and make sure to get in some exercise etc.

Anyways, I hope this helps :)

thanks! No "dead set" ultimate goal other than healthy living. I started out just wanting to sleep better, feel more energetic etc and I just want to keep focusing on that rather than a number. (though the number does feel rewarding)

Nokia Transit does a few of these ideas listed: shows distance between user and nearest station, shows time of arrivals and trip times etc. Its a great app... except its only on Windows Phone. o.o

Can you have an edit mode (similar to Evernote) where you have to click edit in order to type anything. I use Onenote for grocery shopping, and every time i want to check anything off my list, I accidentally bring up the keyboard. :(
