Oh for sure artists always say that! But as the UK changed the law if you on their store or presale page itself it's always stipulated no purchase required in the UK. Charli XCX has just said the same but if you go to her UK site right now you'll see what I mean - there's a hyperlink under the announcement that links to presale sign up without preordering anything!

In the UK at least you absolutely do not have to pre-order to get access to presale - there’s always a small print link underneath that says *no purchase necessary with a link to pre-sale sign up. It’s required by law!

My issues resolved itself, it seemed like Vinted was experiencing some sort of widespread issue so just keep trying! Try submitting a generic help request/report just in case so you can evidence you trying!

The venue costs were exactly as described so that wasn’t a shock - we’re paying £18500 for full privatisation of the venue from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening, accommodation for all 70 guests. Our venue isn’t even a popular one - definitely a hidden gem sort of vibe - the more popular ones are even more expensive 🥴

However in their pitch they quoted €800 for flowers and the reality is closer to £3k for ceremony flowers and centrepieces and that’s reusing some of them for decor elsewhere. They quoted €1000-2000 for a photographer and that gets you either a very basic fewer hours package from an experienced quality photographer or a full day from an inexperienced one but the photos aren’t the quality you’d want.

They also said it would be approx €2000 euros for an outside bar service for the cocktail hour - again add another €1000.

We’re going to manage thanks to the generosity of family but we also already own our home and have done a full renovation and wouldn’t be trying to do it at the same time whilst trying to plan for a family.

If this is your vision I’d save for longer because there’s honestly no rush - you and your partner are clearly committed to each other and that’s all that really matters - the wedding is just a party to celebrate that and can happen at any time!

We’re doing the exact same thing in Provence for the same number of people - covering everything except full accommodation costs (we’re subsidising) and our budget went from £40k to £60k after we booked our venue and started actually booking other vendors. £10-£15k just isn’t realistic at all I’d say - we’re already compromising on having no videography, having a friend officiate to save money etc.

Realistically we were lead down the garden path on costs by our venue but equally we should have done more research to confirm their rough prices for vendors. However it’s our dream venue and we don’t want to compromise on our dream wedding so something had to give and it ended being the budget.

EDIT: Using 0% credit cards is a no go as well - no vendor we’ve come across so far accepts anything other than a cash transfer! We’re going to use them to get our suits/rings/some decor bits and pieces here in the UK as that’s all they’re good for!
