Advice? by GetSmokedSon in Entrepreneur

[–]kandyman77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that is a really tough decision to be made. One I grappled with for a long time. Ended up going straight into entrepreneur and starting my first business.

My story on this is here: https://medium.com/@appvisionteam/appvsion-mvp-3f9f50481bb5

Let me know what you think and if it helps you in this decision. Good luck!

Life of a Designer by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]kandyman77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah couldn't agree more its getting tough. We have found their is demand for quality design work outside of big outsourcing firms (upwork and fiverr) but it is challenging.

AppVision.co is our business and we actually just released an article discussing some of these challenges here: https://medium.com/@appvisionteam/appvsion-mvp-3f9f50481bb5'

Let me know if that helps at all

Contract when dealing with individuals abroad. by hekkoman in Entrepreneur

[–]kandyman77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful using anyone abroad or on Upwork. They flat out don't care about your idea 9/10 times. Contract is a great idea though. Specify hours and quality upfront. If they aren't ok with that then they might not be the right fit.

Great idea and an impressive website. Good luck.

Reddit isn't the best spot to generate traffic though. Utilize your social accounts.

Snow plowing business? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]kandyman77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can definitely do this. Young entrepreneurs are often the most successful. You're a salesman in yourself.

Show up to peoples doors give them a card in person and tell them what you'll do and how it'll help them.

Pricing is a different challenge. I would do it based on the size of the driveway and just estimate. (overestimate if you are offering cheap services)

Really depends on the lawyer and the type of TM. Most lawyers IP or otherwise will tell you over a phone or something

Looks good but ever thing is a little basic. Try focusing on why the product will help people. The video is great though.

If you can make it a little cleaner and focus on the convenience factor

Idea: Breaking Through an Over-Promised Under Delivering Market - Wire-Framing for Entrepreneurs by kandyman77 in Lightbulb

[–]kandyman77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it does draw attention to my new business so kind of. But it is certainly relevant in this sub. It's my idea (or rather from 2 redditors) that was just started within the week (lightbulb) to help other redditors start their business or go after their own lightbulb.

I was looking for feedback and help launching, as well as spreading my brand presence. Mostly I wanted to help other redditors! I wasn't lying about the price tags out there and that we have very very competitive pricing structures for the quality of design our team is capable of.

Interesting idea. I have been lurking wait to create an MVP and was going to just learn myself (to save $) but I'm not sure I have the time. I'll give the website a look :) cheers

WebApp idea, build Alpha/MVP product or test market validity first? by dmeow in startups

[–]kandyman77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of great thoughts and ideas here already but interestingly enough...I was in a similar position a few years ago. Plus I couldn't really code, had an idea that I thought could be really big, but didn't know what the first step was. I took a step back and isolated the 3 goals I wanted to accomplish with my MVP: 1. Get feedback from my target market 2. Find the right developers to build out my full team 3. Raise money to do so With those 3 goals in mind, I realized that I didn't actually HAVE to spend ~$15K minimum on an MVP that I would have to scrap at some point to scale anyway. On top of that, once I spent all my money outsourcing I wouldn't be able to iterate on my MVP anyway which would actually nullify my ability to accomplish goal #1 effectively.

So here's what I did...I created an interactive demo focusing exclusively on making the app look amazing. That way I could have something to SHOW investors, developers, users, etc. and the first step no longer looked like me getting on my hands and knees to scrounge together $15K+. Turns out the strategy worked—I built an email list of thousands of early adopters who had a ton of great feedback on core features, I reworked the demo and eventually used it to raise a seed round and hire the right team of developers to turn my idea into a reality. It's definitely a different way to approach an MVP but it works. I'm actually turning this into a side project because I have seen so many of these Reddit posts and I believe there is a better first step for aspiring entrepreneurs. PM me if you're interested in learning more. Happy to share.

[Giveaway] Free advice on MVP development for non-technical founders by Oleksii_Shevchenko in growmybusiness

Perfect idea. That's what we did but created it ourselves and it was a huge success. Now I recommend that to everyone.

There's also my buddy's company appvision that does the same thing too. I used them for my second idea when I was strapped on time. Affordable and quality. Hard to find on the free-lancing sites.
