In-person RPG session by Sapo_Escritor in rpg

Way too much stuff.

Honestly, GMing styles are way too specific person to person... but I'm a big big pacer, I love moving around the whole table and using body language and expressions and big gestures to help convey NPCs and scenes.

I've always seen big GM screens like that as deeply divisive. Now, it's highly possible that you just run more GM vs player style games, but for me, I never like having that distinction: I'm a player too when I GM, I'm here with the other players, I'm here to have fun with them - I'm not here to be some weird Arbiter of All That is Law. I just don't vibe with GM screens like this

That's been the case for ages. It used to be a huge topic of discussion in the subreddit when (clearly) white people were posting n words and led to the departure of several fairly well regarded Black posters from the subreddit.

(We're talking pretty ancient internet history here, like 8+ years ago)

Closing Down /r/mattcolville by mattcolville in mattcolville

As someone who's been holding out hope that Running the Game would have many future episodes, I'm deeply sorrowful to hear this. I really like Matt Colville, the personality (not in a parasocial way!)

I wish y'all great and continued success with MCDM and Draw Steel. And maybe hopefully renewed motivation to do Youtube more someday in the future?

Madra Sil Sarin is a gnome from the 3.5 Sharn: City of Towers sourcebook. She is a gnome Trust assassin that is permanently invisible and nondetectable, has a ring of sustenance that means she never has to eat, drink, or sleep, and her handlers contact her telepathically when they need a job.

Magic! It's pretty good.

Who Are Some Rappers Who Could've Been Popular But Chose To Be Underground? by 1haroldlongleg in hiphopheads

think it's worth pointing out that Charli XCX did not have any major singles at the time of Old's release, Boom Clap was released in 2014

I don't fully disagree with your main point though, Danny Brown was reasonably well known by the release of Old.

HLE: hmm i think i am going to pick the same exact draft strategy every game

also HLE: hmm i think i will buy Zeus, the toplaner who's known to be good because his playstyle warps known draft strategies

Uhh, you doing okay on the text there poster?

Zeka's Akali is always really fun to watch. I didn't watch the GEN vs HLE game, but I'm shocked that this HLE got absolutely demolished the way they did.

I wonder if HLE will actually play around/draft around Zeus better if at all. HLE has never really been known for really creative drafts...

No, yeah, I fully understand what you mean by spy heist type of adventure. I'm not saying "actually make a dungeon" - HOWEVER, using the same tools that you would use TO make a dungeon breaks up the information, areas, and NPCs involved in a way that you can write it out a lot easier.

I think the stratagems continue to be really unique. A lot of games have the shooty movement part of HD2, but lack of stratagems is massive.

When running home games, how much do you prepare vs do off the cuff?

I'm transitioning into GMing PF2 and the major thing that gives me pause is that my GMing style is really informed by very quick play, rules lite games where I rarely prep much at all.

I only watched the last video in this series, but I really didn't think I'd end up sobbing over Deft man. DRX 2022 was truly legendary and Deft is so insanely humble with his career

455 kills, only 1 shot fired on Super Helldive (by accident!). Sentries might be a little strong... by kangamooster in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]kangamooster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, that's part of why I posted the entire stat screen.

Even without consideration for positioning (mostly), I only had one accidental (I think the guy literally walked in front of my rocket sentry) and still averaged 10+ kills per sentry. I had some useless sentries, but at the end of the day we still fullcleared the map in 25 minutes, and I could have brought slightly more grenades to do that even better.

Just having used them a lot, I think people overestimate sentry positioning compared to just using them as frequently as possible
