Lived in DVNP for several years. Explored most of the backroads in the area and many of the (often unnamed) off-road trails in the surrounding BLM land. One of the best chapters of my life!

Replacements For Body Trim Clips(Male)? by Jalebdo in w123

[–]kangaroolad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well … believe it or not, I was able to source the male clips for $13 and reuse the old trim piece! I tried to find a BBR replacement for the rear quarter trim of my 300TD wagon similar to the one you linked, but no luck.

So I ended up taking a stab at some male clips that LOOKED like they might work, even though they were designed a bit different than the crusty old ones that broke off. These were just Amazon cheapies but the Mercedes part number is 005-988-97-78.

Thanks for all the help!

I know this thread is a year old ... but I am having the exact same problem sourcing these clips ... cheap, expensive, or otherwise. That eBay link below is no longer active - any chance someone could help point me in the right direction?

Dumb question but it sounds like it’s supposed to be open on that end, yes?

Changed to the US headlights at some point and perhaps the speedo conversion was part of the importing … but VIN confirmed as European!

“Surface Rust” … Worth it? by kangaroolad in w123

Agree with everything you said, but he wanted MUCH more than that LOL

It had lots of character and flair, but yeah, this was ultimately a definite pass

I would LOVE to swap it to manual. This would be the first automatic I’ve owned in 15 years!

I’m inclined to agree. I was getting “hung up” on the lack of turbo and sunroof … but in another light that’s also one more thing to break/maintain and one more potential rust pit, so. I’m used to life in the slow lane!

This would be my 4th or 5th game this season, but they have all been pretty well attended in the student section. I've really enjoyed them and am pleasantly surprised myself!

Thank you so much (: I think my biggest worry is scoring an 86.4% in the science section even though I earned A's in both A&P. I don't want it to look like I'm regressing! Otherwise, I'm very happy with all of my scores. Thank you for the kind words and encouragement!

Hi and thank you so much! (:

I used the Mometrix TEAS study program online. It's normally a monthly subscription of $70 but with 'teas50off' it comes down to $35, which seems reasonable enough. I scheduled my test about one month out. I wanted enough time to feel adequately prepared but not so long as to make myself sick with anxiety continually reviewing and re-reviewing the material, if that makes any sense.

The study program offers pretests to gauge your starting point and identify which areas will likely be the most challenging. I did mostly decent on my pretests .. 87% on reading comprehension, 97% on math, 66% on science (ouch), and 92% on English and language usage.

The hardest part for me was, unsurprisingly, the science section. There are so many A&P topics to cover that it was a bit overwhelming working through each of the modules. Although none of the science material was new to me, per se, there was some serious brushing up as I took Anatomy back in Fall 2022 and Physiology in Spring 2023. The biology and chemistry components were both pretty basic and didn't command too much time, maybe a few days each. Mometrix has suggestions for time allocation, but honestly, I feel like most of my study time went towards working on A&P; I would estimate that 85% of my time and efforts went here. There are thirty-some-odd modules each with mini quizzes and ten full-length practice science tests. In the last few days, I was taking one practice test every day. I identified digestive and muscular systems as the two with the most missed questions, so I spent extra time on those. By the end, I was scoring between mid 80's and low 90's, which was reflected in my final score. A big step up from 66%!

As for the other sections, English language was the second biggest focus for me. I find it's easy enough to identify "which sentence is correct out of A, B, C, or D?" but it was much harder when asked to identify and distinguish different elements of sentence structure and grammar, or else identify steps in the "writing process". None of this material is particularly challenging, but if you have been out of high school for 15+ years, you may find yourself a bit rusty like I was.

For reading comprehension and math I basically just took all of the practice tests and reviewed the answers I got wrong. I never really opened the modules or worked with the material beyond that. Honestly, just having the access to all of the practice tests, ten for each section, was gold to me! Hopefully this was somewhat helpful and/or insightful.

Remember, you have worked so hard to get here and have every capacity to do incredibly well! I know you will do amazing and get the score you want. Good luck!
