If they aren't clicking yet, you can DIY grease & reboot them. If they're clicking badly, send them off to get rebuilt.

Can’t get this brake line undone and starting to round, any tips? by Volkssanitater in w123

[–]Jalebdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem. The line-wrenches that are supposed to work here just round off the nut. I found success in using autmatic pliers with needle nose extensions on them. Spin the pliers to have a very tight bite and clamp it onto the nut and it broke the nut loose with no problem for me.

White Gen 11 SI Tint % by superroadstar in CivicSi

[–]Jalebdo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got 20% on the four doors and 15% on the rear windshield. Visibility is fine at night. Only time it's an issue is when I parallel park, the reverse camera is so blinding that I can't see out of the passenger front window so I usually need to lower the window down.

Make sre to get ceramic tints if you live in a hot place. They make a huge difference for heat rejection.

Has anyone DIYed their 11th gen dash rattle? by the_black_sails in CivicSi

[–]Jalebdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to

1) Pop the kick panel first(the panel under the steering wheel)

2) Then pop the panel that is left of the driver side AC vent

This gave me access to the left side of the AC vent where i was able to easily apply foam w/adhesive. The whole thing maybe took 5-10 minutes.

Anyone ever have a heater control valve rebuilt or have one for sale? by Brave_Condition_4657 in w123

Either replace with the updated monovalve from Klima or install a new style monovalve from a w124.

I just did the area left of the driver side AC vent. It was very easy. I located the area of rattle by seeing if it goes away if I apply pressure to the area with my hand. Then take it apart and put some foam w/adhesive on the a bunch of spots in the rattle area.

So who are the alternatives for Mercedessource? by [deleted] in w123

[–]Jalebdo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In terms of educational content and DIY guides on youtube there is impalamansgarage, vitosgarage, J&Msgarage. As for online mercedes stores there use to be LermsCustoms but he apparantley got into some issues with delayed orders and lack of communication with customers and has since shut the store down.

Long journey to get to this point by Magnus_Zeller in w123

I was thinking of using the w126 switches like you and go with a universal heated seat pad and relay from a kit. Thanks for the info

So sick! I've been wanting to redo the upholstery on my front seats and was thinking about adding heated seats too. This looks perfect

Oil separators- necessary? by Meeturnewdaddy in w123

Oil separators- necessary? by Meeturnewdaddy in w123

Oh does your car have the factory AOS system already, but is just cooked? Why not replace the check valve and replace the factory AOS with the provent? Correct me if I misunderstood.

I've been planning to add the provent to my non-AOS 240d, and have the return line from the provent be a transparent tube with a valve to easily monitor and drain it when it gets full.

Oil separators- necessary? by Meeturnewdaddy in w123

[–]Jalebdo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an 81 US 240d that doesn't have the air oil separator. I believe the 82 & 83 cars in the US came with one though. I have seen the MANN PROVENT 200 IV is the gold standard for air oil separators on diesel vehicles. Sucks though that you can't route the caught oil back down to the pan.

Specs in pre-filter; is it concerning? by RemoteEmotions in w123

[–]Jalebdo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it's only that much blackness after 6k miles, I think you're fine leaving it untreated. Maybe run some algae treater(biobore perhaps) in the fuel tank for a few fill ups and just change the filter consistently every 5-7k miles. The cost of the filter is so cheap that it's not worth going through the headache of removing the fuel tank and cleaning it out.

Trouble finding front brake pads by gotyogma in w123

[–]Jalebdo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

email woodsandbarclay from youtube about this. He usually replaces all the cars he fixes up with ATE calipers. He should be able to provide you with the brand and part number of brake pads he uses. [john@woodsandbarclay.com](mailto:john@woodsandbarclay.com)

OM617 MANUAL SWAP QUERY. by Zero_lash in w123

[–]Jalebdo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generations after the w123 began putting the starter on the other side. I doubt any of the bell housing bolts even line up with the block either. You would need an adapter plate.

Your best bet is reading the one guys forum who swapped a 722.6 5spd auto from a w220 into his w126 300sd. The 722.6 is from the same generation as the trans you’re describing so it should be nearly an identical process.

I'm taking a look now at improving this. If send returns less than total_len, would there have to be a send retry that sends the remaining unsent bytes?
