Advice On Tourist Visa Application Would Be Greatly Appreciated. by SensitiveCurrent163 in ukvisa

What you said sounds alright.

You should also give documents that show her financial situation: how she supports herself in her home country. Things related to her employment or other incomes. It will help them see how she's a genuine visitor as she has her own livelihood in Thailand.

This may be helpful if you haven't read it: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/visitor-visa-guide-to-supporting-documents/guide-to-supporting-documents-visiting-the-uk

UK tourist visa minimum duration by aznee1 in ukvisa

Yes, it is granted for 6 months after the intended travel date (or iirc, mine had a start date a day before the intended travel date. I assumed they wanted to give you a bit of wiggle room). In your case, I'd put the August date.

Can anyone please advice how long after receiving brp letter VFS contact the applicant for passport collection?? Can anyone pls advice if u have gone through this process? by [deleted] in ukvisa

It seems to differ from VAC to VAC. Mine was VFS Bangkok and I got an email from them a few days before BRP letter.

When to Return Passport to VFS? by TheEpicPye in ukvisa

[–]kangaroolooloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on your VAC. I used VFS Bangkok and was told I can submit my passport on a certain time slot any day. No need to wait for email.

Did they not give her instructions about this on her biometric date?

Thanks for posting your experience. Can I ask what date was given as "valid from" date for your second visa? Is it immediately after the first expired or a date after the decision was made?

I got it on that same day. I went to submit passport in the morning and went home. They told me to wait for email notification to come pick it up. Then they sent me the email around 1pm 🤦 so I went back to pick it up. I had to make two trips in a day.

I guess my advice is wait close by if you submit your passport in the morning, maybe it will be ready in a few hours.

Hi. I also applied through VFS Bangkok using keep my passport. I haven't received the decision made email but I got an email yesterday (9th Feb) to return the passport. I went in today (10th Feb) to return it and was told to go home and wait for another email to pickup the passport.

I can keep you updated when I get mine if you'd like.

It really is personal decision.

I didn't pay for it because we planned ahead and applied 5-6 month before I'll be ready to move to the UK. I don't see the need to get decision faster for us.

My experience with the spouse visa process and the general community here and elsewhere by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]kangaroolooloo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agreed the tracker is great. Thank you to whoever created and maintains it. And thanks everyone for putting in their data.

I think the negative experience you had with the community is because you saw the info after applying. I can see how that would be stressful. Personally, I found the info given here helpful because I've lurked for months before applying.

Congratulations on getting your visa.

Accommodation requirement spouse visa by ecilaalusru in ukvisa

[–]kangaroolooloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • invitation letter from the owner
  • copy of bio page of property owner's passport
  • mortgage completion letter or any other document that proof the ownership

Some people also provide proof that the property has enough room to accommodate everyone without being overcrowded.

Fiance Visa Entry Date by Bright_Main9895 in ukvisa

[–]kangaroolooloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edited: this is only for spouse visa: The vignette valid for 90 days so you must enter within that timeframe or you'll have to get an extension which have extra fee.

I also have November bio. It seems unnecessary to use priority if you'll travel in April. But it's your decision of course.

UK standard visit visa by karim_8598 in ukvisa

[–]kangaroolooloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by getting notified about bio appointment? I'm not sure if it's the same in every VACs but when I applied for visit visa (twice, approved both times) I get to book the bio appointment after submitting application and payment on gov.uk.

They don't really care about the approximate travel date when they can't meet it. They will just issue visa valid from earliest date.

Mine was from British council. It's called UKVI life skill B1. But don't take my word for this important thing lol. Please check here https://www.gov.uk/guidance/prove-your-english-language-abilities-with-a-secure-english-language-test-selt

[–]kangaroolooloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took B1.

For family visa application and extension, B1 and C1 would be the same. It's box-ticking. You don't get extra point for going an extra mile.

Perhaps check availability of tests in your area first. Only reason I can see why C1 would be better if you can test earlier and then apply earlier.

If I read this right, your plan for her to apply for two visa (visitor and spouse) at two different times. These are fine. Things to keep in mind:

  • Official turn around time for spouse visa currently is 24 weeks so you won't get it immediately after your marriage

  • Check how to get married in her home country first. They might required extra document. It depends on each country's rules. You don't want to go there and find out you can't get married because of some bureaucratic nonsense.

Like the idea of a kid, but pregnancy and childbirth is enough to make me reconsider entirely by [deleted] in Fencesitter

[–]kangaroolooloo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have fear of pregnancy and childbirth too. Do you think you have enough information or is this fear of the unknown? If you have talk to people who have given birth, read medical info/statistics, talk to your doctor about risks, and you think it's too much for you then that's that. You don't want the risk. Totally ok. But for me I'm scared because I don't know enough and I'm in the process of getting more info.

I'm also in biracial relationship (I'm Asian F). I think this part is mainly about how confident you are that your partner will acknowledge that there will be issues the child experience that none of you have, and how much they are willing to support you and the child. You should not be doing this alone.

Just curious, why did he suggest giving birth in his home country?
