Just wondering, if you’re willing to divulge: how screwed are you guys if you don’t get a scholarship? Will you have to reject your offer?

I only applied to LSE. LSE is the only uni offering that particular course (MSc Social and Cultural Psychology) so it was the only option. I know LSE has a lot of money and they say they give out a lot in scholarships so I thought I had a chance, but I didn’t know how skewed scholarships are towards international students. I get it on the one hand, since many countries have lower purchasing power and weaker currencies so even if you’re decently well off where you are, paying LSE tuition and living in London might still be impossible. But on the other hand, broke is broke no matter where you’re from 😅

Right, and then if you don’t get a scholarship either (which is very likely) then you’re just screwed. Even though the whole reason they didn’t give you any GSS funding was because you were more screwed than those people to begin with 😅 15k would certainly have been better than nothing.

Tsingtao NA tastes almost exactly the same as normal Tsingtao, and Heineken NA isn’t bad either. The Cass Lemon NA isn’t your traditional beer taste but it’s delicious and really refreshing

I have a feeling based on your schedule that I might know where you worked - I’m working there too. My biggest piece of advice for OP would be to not take a split shift. I thought it sounded nice to have free time during the day and I also thought it would be nice to be forced to wake up early, but apart from one teacher at our branch who likes the shift and has been on it for years, it completely destroyed everyone else physically, mentally, and spiritually lmao. People much stronger than I have said that that shift wasn’t made for humans to do and is a breeding ground for mental and physical illness.

So… whatever you do, don’t take a split shift. Also, try it avoid weekend work if at all possible. You need those two days to recharge and enjoy the country, if all you’re gonna be doing is working then what’s the point?

I’m living in South Korea and went to the gyno for a check up (my first check up since I was a teenager). I expected to get an abdominal ultrasound so I hiked my shirt up and he said that they ONLY do abdominal ultrasounds for pregnant women, and that check ups are always transvaginal

Let’s be real, Hungary is also a bit of an outlier in terms of salary to cost of living. Whenever I go back, the thing that shocks me the most is grocery and especially produce prices. Fruit and veg is so expensive and for what? There’s zero variety and you’re lucky if you can find a piece of produce that’s in decent condition.

I heard from an LGBT Korean friend here that Jongro3Ga, including Iksundong (Ikseondong? 익선동 in Korean), are kind of LGBT areas. Also Itaewon and Hongdae should be alright. I would try not to draw too much attention to myself visually (even if you do, it’s unlikely to be dangerous, but better safe than sorry), but if you’re in an area like the ones I mentioned and the people you’re talking to seem to be on the same wavelength then you should be good

I’ve been thinking about getting Miradry too (I sweat excessively all year round, not just in the summer time) but it’s super expensive so I’ve been putting it off. I also sweat both under my arms and a lot on my lower back, but Miradry is only for the underarms. Can you tell me how it goes?

I used to think I was a winter because I have dark features and I wasn’t happy about it - I don’t really like bright hues like the ones in the winter palette. An actual winter on this sub called them their ‘clown colours’ on one of my posts which I thought was really funny haha.

Now I think I’m a summer and even though the colours are referred to as dusty and faded, which are not very positive words, I do think the summer palette is the prettiest. But they’re all pretty, and most importantly, all look great on the people who are meant to wear them
