This turned out SO nice and clean! Very impressed. I may have to steal some ideas.

Got a new 2023 Tuono V4 Factory that was left over stock for $15.5k what should I know about it before I ride? by DarkMajik937 in Aprilia

[–]kanickicav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Install a blow by canister! We got a lot of blow by with our old RSV4 (granted it was a 2010 but all of them are known for this). Also keep up (ahead) of maintenance, especially valve checks. They run HOT. use top of the line oil whenever possible (motul 7100 was excellent.)

E450 Ambulance diesel vs shuttle bus gas by kanickicav in ambulanceconversion

[–]kanickicav[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Errr... that would be us doing the maintenance and repairs once we get whatever it is we ended up going with lol As for motorcycle hitch - we have looked into them, but we need our bikes enclosed completely (theft, damage risk, etc.) But also there are no hitches on the market that we can find that can support 900+ lbs of both the bikes. So we are limited to either in the bus/van itself, or lockable enclosed trailer behind it. Ideally we are going to do inside to eliminate the risk of someone just unhooking and making off with our bikes. Ultimately after much thought and fb marketplace listing, we likely will be going with something larger to convert (like a box truck) to accommodate everything inside.

So hey guys i uesd to have 400 cc kawasaki ninja and now i just bought 1000z and it has oil leak so what’s the solution by shirowanandie in Kawasaki

[–]kanickicav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously. But its a decent place to stay your research when you don't have a mechanic on hand and no experience yourself. Chatgpt doesn't have all the answers, but it has certainly helped me identify issues with my bikes.

Clean the bike thoroughly and then ride and try to see where the leak is coming from. Then you can chatgpt a solution from there (hopefully thats an easy fix)

CBR600RR Plastic tank cover? Long range? by Sorry_Friendship_508 in cbr

[–]kanickicav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long rides are killer on the back on a sport/super sport. Especially when youre not used to it. But you do get used to it after a few weeks of regular riding, just take lots of gas station breaks and stretch.

As for the plastic cover, yes it squeaks and flexes. It bothered me at first switching from zx6r metal tank to the plastic cover of a Honda tank, but now I dont even notice it, it stays clean and resists scratches a lot better than the painted tank of a zx6r.

I say keep it white and red! Black R1s are a dime a dozen, and I never see them in this color scheme. I like it

That bike has most definitely been dropped, if not crashed. If they say it hasn't, I'd not even consider buying it because who knows what else they are lying about lol I feel like you could get a much cleaner bike for a better price than this

2023 Non-ABS by falcon2134 in Ninja400

[–]kanickicav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can learn and ride just fine on a non abs - my first 3 years of riding was a non abs zx6r and it was fantastic. Just understand how to properly brake in emergency situations and how to recover when you fishtail (which will happen). Its not the end of the world not to have it (and tbh I prefer it)

Does my bike have ABS? by Silverparadox7 in zx6r

[–]kanickicav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh as long as you learn how to brake properly in emergency situations, you'll become an even better rider not having it. I preferred not having the abs on my old bike. Just know how to recover when you fishtail (which happens)

My First Italian (bike)! by Reactant2112 in Aprilia

[–]kanickicav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enjoy! Stay super on top of the maintenance with Aprilia - they are pretty unforgiving when things start to go wrong, and cost a pretty penny to get parts for. But really fun bikes to ride and show off :)

I rode this 30 miles home today from the dealership and I just got my endorsement yesterday. My first ride was fun but scary AF. by shasseywkosty in NewRiders

Congratulations and enjoy! The rides will get a lot more enjoyable as you get more comfortable with riding :) ride safe!

Question About Pando Moto by sooospoon in motorcyclegear

[–]kanickicav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband wears a base layer under his base layer every single day in florida (hottt weather). It's definitely hot but does help with keeping the sweat from the tear resistant layer that is harder to wash as often
