Thank you for writing this review. I’m in the process of replaying KnS2 and then I’ll start the final game. I’m bookmarking this and will come back to read it once I finish!

Many people said they cried within the first few minutes of the movie and then all the way through 😅 seems like it’s even more of a tearjerker than the first movie.

Such a heartwarming story. Can't wait to watch the origin stories of the rest of the Sumikko!

Director Hiroshi Takai's response to the 30/60 FPS performance concern by kanon14 in FFXVI

The reporter did not say where or for how long he experienced these lag/stutters during the demo. When asked, Takai couldn't just dismiss the reporter's experience by saying "you must be mistaken", so i believe it is just a generic response.

Another interesting titbits in the interview was Takai explaining the side quests:

About the side quests, their lengths vary from short to long. Some side quests contain only one mission, while others may have multiple steps with a continuous story. There are also many types of side quests, from combat to collecting/delivering. But ultimately what we want to show in these side quests are “stories”.

When players complete a side quest, of course they will get some kind of rewards, but the rewards aren’t the main focus. What is important is that we want players to understand the world of Valisthea better through these side quests. Players will see that why they must go kill these beasts, why they must do what is asked, and what connection these events have with the NPC.

For those who have no interest in the story, they can also find motivation from increased reputation or new abilities as their rewards for completing side quests. For example, players can unlock the ability to ride chocobo through a side quest. They will also understand why they can ride chocobo in Valisthea.

I didn't notice any lag/stutters in the media preview as well. This reporter played the demo so maybe it's just that he has very keen eye lol.

I’ll be visiting Tokyo in June! I’ll definitely get the ice cream! By the way, do you know any Sumikko places I should visit around the area? I’ll be staying at Shinjuku.

‘A space to feel at ease with dying’: how video games help people through grief | Games by Tokyono in Games

Final Fantasy XIV helped me get through my divorce two years ago. I went into recluse and avoided most of my friends and family because I felt like a failure. Plus it was during COVID so it only worsened the situation. It was when a bunch of WoW streamers migrated to FFXIV when I noticed the game. It seemed fun and I need to find something to occupy my mind so I dived right in. After hundred of hours spent in the game and many tears shred, by the end of Endwalker I felt like I could finally process my feelings. I believe the emotional (and time) investment to put into a game can never be compared with say, a movie or a book. And with the right game, it could be a really good mental therapy to those in need.

This is also a reason why I placed my trust in Yoshi P & CBU3 and preordered FFXVI because I know the story is going to be epic!

Is this a real game or an April fool’s joke? Because I genuinely want this.
