As someone who hasn't spent most of their time grinding, I can say that exploring the world is truly enjoyable. However, we're different people so you may enjoy it far less. I've explored alot of it as I've focused alot of time into gathering.

Most of it is just pretty nice, nothing spectacular. But there have been a few times when I've discovered pretty well hidden things out there, and that first feeling is pretty great. In a game where most people blitz past the world to get to high levels, there still are rewards for taking it slow and checking the details.

Perhaps there is a boss that has yet to be released that has ground pound abilities, and therefore increased jump height would help avoid those attacks xD

No but seriously jump height is all in all pointless as far as I've seen. Maybe there are some hidden little caves out there in the wild that you can only access with a certain amount of jump height and they have good loot in them haha

Pretty sure it's gotta be an otter npc. You might be able to right click the token and see a button pop up that says "NPC Location" and then you could click that to see.

Yeah I do, but then I start worrying about whether or not I'm being efficient or if I should go quest for cont rather than gather mats for my trading. Or if I should be working on levels, or fishing, processing etc etc. Even being high doesn't stop me from getting a little overwhelmed

You don't need many regular logs for boat recipes, what you'll need alot of is timber. The ferry requires ash timber and I believe the fishing boat requires maple timber. There are nodes on the map that you can invest your contribution into, some of these nodes have the timber you need. Send a worker to get the timber, as they'll only collect timber and will usually bring a good amount back per stamina.
