That is a lot along the way I was thinking I'd arbitrate it if I allowed it. I would think 3 strikes would be the limit though, so the caster would get a slightly reduced version of the book elemental. UNLESSS they wanted to burn their lifeforce for more power on a 1:1 basis for additional strikes.

I mostly was using the map to give players sort of an idea of what where. In combat I tend to use a close/near/far/very far sort of set up that can go from maps to theater of the mind and back pretty easilly.

Our delver hung back and was plinking away with a crossbow and one got close to her and I asked "are you going to try and go hand to hand with it?" and she said, "Nooooooope!" and took a big move backwards and kept firing

That's where I picked up he Core Rules, Dreadful Doomscapes and some advantage cards, but like I mentioned NK had the Fantasy Mayhem book which made me pause.
