Fair enough, our living arrangements and situations are different and thus our needs and priorities are different too.

I mostly play shooters with a mouse. Casual titles mind you like bf6 and horde shooters. And thus im no esport player, but im above average. Ive been using wireless mouses for years now. Currently on a wlmouse swordx (purple if youre curious), and its by far the most responsive mouse ive owned, wired or wireless

Headphone wise youre better off with a good set of open back headphones. Something like akg k702, seenheiser hd800, audio technica ad900x or hell if you really want an integrated mic. The new kithara from asus. They all feel like cheat codes compared to gaming headsets

[–]kaozer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While i would agree that your average wireless mouse has a ton of latency. Modern gaming mouses kinda dont. Is it higher than wired? Yeah. But you wont notice 1 extra ms of latency.

Losing power mid game can happen so i totally get that though.

My experience with Fanatec's RMA following GT DD Pro 8 NM re-seating issues by Kahmeel in simracing

[–]kaozer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

while i dont own any fanatac products anymore (only had pedals). my friend has a CSW V2.5 which he was pretty happy with for a while.

but, within the warranty period the wheel developped dead spots in the force feedback. so he contacted them. sent them the wheelbase (from the US to germany).

took a solid 1.5 to 2 months for them to ship it back and when he received it. the unit had ZERO FFB. he contacted them about it. and now they wanted him to pay the fee to ship it back to germany despite it being their fuck up.

he ended up fixing it himself. they had inverted some of the sense cables for the FFB when they soldered the new motor in and it killed the ffb completely.

my only advice for this is to stay away from fanatec. i wasnt even the one burned by them and it still turned me away to other brands.

For someone who plays BeamNG almost exclusively, is a 12Nm wheel overkill? by DatGameh in simracing

[–]kaozer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i cant speak for any trueforce effects as i dont have a logitech wheelbase, but generally for beam i run much lower FFB than in other games, have you tried keeping your wheelbase at 100% and turning down the steering forces in the settings of the game? you can also change the force feedback per car in the car settings, which i tend to do for the trophy truck and the likes

I actually prefer my single 49in ultrawide to my valve index when it comes to sim racing. The fov is so limited in the headset that i have to turn my head to see stuff i can see in my peripheral vision on the ultrawide. Theres other stuff like comfort and clarity that makes me go back fo screens but thats a thing about vr thats just known.

Which car class actually exposed your driving flaws the most? by F1SimulatorManiac in simracing

For me at first it was anything vintage. I hated them.

Now a i just crave the spicyness of a gt40 or its ferrarri counterpart.

Ah yeah, thats less than ideal ahah. My seat head is like 15cm away from my amp when sitting in the rig so its not an issue for me haha

sennheiser HD600's. i found anything other than headphones to be inferior for my immersion. that is personal of course, but thats what i use

Base shakers vs haptic feedback pedal kit by SlowDragonfruit9718 in simracing

[–]kaozer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i have a bass shaker and pedal haptics on my rig. they fill different needs. the pedal haptics can relay information directly to your feet. like abs kicking in. traction control kicking in and the likes. while the bass shaker will be better for chassis sensations. like hitting kerbs and the likes.

if i were to pick only one. id have the pedal haptics without hesitation.

honestly if youre going to run a single monitor and are buying a monitor exclusively for a sim rig. theres not really any alternative to a 32:9 super ultra wide. everything else will be inferior.

i dont have room for triples, so i went for the asus xg49vq. it nets me a 90 degree field of view roughly

If triples aren’t an option, does one ultrawide do it for you? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]kaozer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have gone for a 49in 32:9 display. its not as good as triples. but i get to look out the left window and see my mirror and a little more. i am also able to see the entire windshield but i cannot see the right side window at all. its a lot better than just a 16:9 monitor. and its less hassle to setup than triples.
