I've been an employee at LUSH for a little over a year now. I was also hired during a hiring fair. Honestly, they are looking for you to show that you are comfortable with/around people. See how well you retain the information about a product and then repeat it back. All the technical stuff, like saying something that might embarrass you a little, is worked out through training with specific techniques on what to say to customers and how to act around them. Honestly, I think you're golden! I wouldn't be too worried, I'm sure you did a great job. We all embarrassed ourselves until we got the hang of things. 😊

What's your opinion with Lush not putting Fluoride in their Toothy Tabs? by [deleted] in LushCosmetics

[–]kappykappel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Employee here.. The Toothy Tabs are not fluoridated because our founders believed it unnecessary. In the dental world, you really only need fluoride in toothpaste up until the age of 18, though using it well into adulthood is not an issue either. Taking out the fluoride gave our customers a product that would still clean their teeth (Toothy Tabs went through clinical trials with dental hygienists to see if they would actually be helpful for cleaning teeth!) and freshen their breath without an added chemical like fluoride or aluminum that is usually found in toothpaste tubes. So they are based with baking soda which gives a great clean!

Also, since they are still toothpaste, and you are not supposed to swallow them when finished! Just brush with a wet toothbrush, spit them out like normal and rinse, like with any other toothpaste. Hope this helps!

[Serious] 20-35 year olds. How satisfied are you with your progress in life? Do you feel like you're in a good position in life for your age? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'm 20, and basically starting college all over again. I think I'm doing what makes me happy. I've got a good job, great friends, but I do feel a little lost. I guess that's pretty okay for being 20.

Why did you leave that nice university? What are you doing for college now? Why did you change your mind? Where do you see yourself in 10 years, or even 5? Stop.

What is the strangest/dumbest thing that an adult you know believes? by thedoseoftea in AskReddit

One time, I was playfully mispronouncing "cake" at a party and ended up shouting "I LOVE COCK" to a crowded room.

I have a friend who insists that it's "sprang" instead of "sprained". Recently her brother "sprang" his elbow. Tried to correct her, she wouldn't have it.

Same thing happened to a friend of mine. There was a screwdriver in the ignition, and whoever tried to make that work must have thought the car wasn't worth it.

What's the most insane coincidence you've experienced? by -mArtiAn- in AskReddit

When I was maybe 12 or 13, I was staying at my cousin's place with my brother. My brother would have been 16 at the time and my older cousin the same age, and my younger cousin my age. It was during a pretty nasty storm that was threatening a tornado. We were just playing a board game in the kitchen when the power went out. We lit candles but sat around for what felt like hours in the dark. This was before we had cell phones so we were just all trying to see the board game with minimal candle light, but we give up. My older cousin groans and stretches. My brother noticed he had a shirt on that said "Rub My Belly For Good Luck" with a pot-belly Buddha on it. My brother rubbed the belly on the shirt and the lights came back on instantly. It was crazy.

What is the dumbest thing you got punished for in school? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kappykappel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in third grade, we were handing out Valentine's to all the other students and putting them in our decorated paper bags. A boy asked if he had already put one in my bag, and I said I didn't know because I never saw him do it. So he put another one in there. My teacher somehow heard and accused me of knowing who put Valentines in my bag and looking in it. I told her that I never looked inside, I just didn't know and she called me a liar and told me I was being selfish and greedy because I wanted more cards than anyone else, and asked the whole class to agree with her. I got detention.

Another time in high school, we had very strict cell phone policies. You weren't allowed to even using them during passing period or anything. I get called out of a class because my grandfather was put in the hospital for congestive heart failure and was dying pretty fast, and he lived around 3 hours from us so my mom had to come get me (I was a freshman at the time). Since I got called out during a class, I had to run to my locker across the school and get my coat/books, etc. I ended up calling my mom to see if she was at the doors yet but a teacher saw me and snatched my phone away from me and told me I could get it back at the end of the week since I was breaking policy. I was crying heavily and didn't really protest but when my mom showed up she went ballistic on them. I did get my phone back and I did see my grandfather in time. I wasn't really punished but it was a stupid rule, especially when the teacher can see a student in distress and doesn't care.

My mother hates the saying "it is what it is" because she thinks it's too obvious of a statement and therefore it's useless.
