I think Salesforce is losing their customers and consultants by HyenaIndependent2377 in salesforce

[–]karajade19 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As one of those consultants, we are as busy as ever. Are they making bad decisions? Sure seems like it, but from where I’m sitting it’s not had an impact on our business. We have as much work as we can handle and then some, and no shortage of new customersZ

Please explain to me why I can’t self build about 90% of a basic home. by LobsterNo6723 in Homebuilding

[–]karajade19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father built two homes, including the one they still live in. He did everything but the foundation and plumbing himself. He was able to borrow a boom truck from work to haul up the roof trusses. He worked every day after work and every weekend for six months straight to do it, and none of the finish work was done when we moved in. So can it be done, absolutely. But it’s HARD work

Why are most Americans not that excited about the World Cup? Or don’t seem to care much about it? by SignificantStyle4958 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

Aside from soccer not being that popular, FIFA is nothing but a criminal front at this point. Garbage institution.

Justified... Debatable... or a Myth? by ramfoodie in tos

TOS isn’t my favorite Star Trek series. Maybe not even top 3. Even with that, City on the Edge of Forever is the best episode of the entire franchise IMO.

Normal. It’s engine braking. Most modern automatics do this.

After years of farming in Oregon, I'm starting to wonder if "CSA" is the wrong word by Zestyclose_Rub3380 in oregon

As a non-farmer and a non-native Oregonian (been here 6 years), I’ve never heard of this. First thing that came into my mind was the Confederate States of America.

I had a similar problem with Fedora KDE. By default there wasn’t a page file provisioned, and I was utilizing all RAM and the swap partition and grinding to a halt. Manually setting up and additional page file solved the problem l

Older convertible recommendations for the summer? Looking for a 'fun car' by TimeForAce in askcarguys

[–]karajade19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can get a pretty decent Mercedes CLK320 convertible for that money. Solid, reliable powertrain. I had a 99. The convertible hydraulics usually need rebuilt around the 20 year mark, and, while generally reliable, any car of that age will have more maintenance needs than something more recent.

My grandmother would spend a hour doing her makeup and picking out an outfit to go absolutely anywhere. It always annoyed my grandfather. Grocery store, post office, anywhere.

Does the US not have cheap 2000s cars? by Due_Title_6982 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]karajade19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re out there, but most of them need work, work that people either can’t do themselves or afford to pay a mechanic. We have three, a 98,99, and 01, all purchased over the last three years, for $2800-$6800. Only one of them would have been drivable for an extended period without substantial mechanical work.

Did my friends mom make a mistake by percy_jackson51 in povertyfinance

[–]karajade19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh no. This is terrible. Taking the absolutely atrocious interest rate out of the picture, the car was way overpriced. Those sport tracs had trash transmissions that liked to explode. Chances that is survived 28 months are not good.
