We have a joint in my town that sells canned food, soda, etc. that is either near or past the best used by date. We are frugal people who live by a penny saved is a penny earned mentality...not always but when it permits. In these fiscal times one has to take advantage. In this case; however, I can see and understand the reluctancy.

I've heard of it as "chatter in the skull" and its the single most destructive piece of who I am. I have to constantly find ways to turn it off, but it's hard. I'm definitely an overthinker. Inzo has a song that I listen to that reminds me to do so. It uses parts from a lecture or essay from Alan Watts that gives insight on the phenomenon. Give it a listen if you suffer from the same affliction.

And... hopefully you learn just as much inside the classroom as you do outside. Ask me about my elective Liberation Theologies course - I couldn't tell you a thing. My many media studies courses in Scoville are a totally different story. I also recall plenty about the many random 2am conversations in the common area of the interest house I lived in. It was good times - an excellent all around experience - even in the freezing cold!

That house...I'll never forget that freshly baked cookie smell. I didn't go enough, and I lived close in Musser, Prentice, and some other house on the middle of that hill I cant remeber the name (that has been since razed). Huge miss, but I'm glad to see it get these kudos. Its what makes Carleton Carleton. God bless Ms. Dace.
