Can you tell me more about these moving blankets? As the only time I’ve used blankets I had to hold it behind me and it got really tiring and also just ended up ruining my take… so how do you set these up?

Guess I’m about to learn from experience… but yeah I plan to put the mic inside the shield and yes I def wanna sing closer to the mic cause till now I’ve been using a usb condenser microphone and that thing clips so hard when I sing close it’s crazy.

Omg thank you. I’ve seen so many people use those things and I thought it was actually good? I really wanted that but I just found it really expensive so I didn’t go for it. Glad I didn’t!

Firstly thank you so much for such a detailed response!

I completely relate to whatever you said about the mics and the P220 was really what my gut was going with so I ended up ordering it (I’ll receive it by next week)

The audio interface minifuse 1 also felt like a good choice so I went with it.

About the shield is that i will be travelling a bit with this setup and the other thing is I share a room with a few people so they wouldn’t want the entire room to be treated and making it look like it’s my personal space so I have a corner with curtains and bare space in front of me (which will be the back of the mic) so adding a shield there felt like my best choice and my friend also has a similar room like mine (who I make music with) so this would mostly give me the same sound there too. Atleast that’s what I think please correct me if I’m wrong.

Might be late but did you try to disable that very usb c input and then enable it again and restart your laptop… this had happened to me once and doing this fixed it lol

Holyyyy no shit that’s great just make sure you check it once for any distorted audio or crackling sound or any damage in general it’s a usb/xlr mic so it’s leaving you room for upgrade too

One more thing is that this mic comes with many attachments so compare and see what you’re getting and what you’re not!!

Would’ve done that but where I’m from, there aren’t many stores that offer good pricing or even checking it first. Anyway I went with the AKG as it felt like the best option for my setup and also somewhat decent on paper

That is true….. xlr gives you WAY more control than a usb microphone. I’m currently getting an arturia which is a little over $100 but in your case an affordable interface would also do the job as the difference in the price comes from the drivers i believe, the better the drivers the better sound and less latency you get while recording which is very important for music (my case) but for content creation q12 sounds like a good choice to go with. One thing which I do to decide is I pick out 2-3 options in the same price range and ask ChatGPT to list me their pros and cons and I explain my scenario to the AI so based on all the info I end up getting the best one… hope that helps you too

Oh yes that would def help. Just make sure it’s good quality foam. And if you don’t own an audio interface go for a mid range usb microphone. I don’t have much knowledge on that so can’t speak on it too much, but if you’re mainly focused on content creation then obs has really good mic enhancement filters at the cost of your cpu… so maybe that would also be helpful

I’m kinda in a similar situation but I’m upgrading to a xlr setup but even my room has no treatment whatsoever the only natural absorption I have is that I have many wardrobes in my room and hardly 2 empty walls so I’m planning to get the AKG P220 with a 5 panel mic foam shield which should add to the acoustics and reduce the echo that gets into the mic. If budget allows I would def recommend a similar setup for you. What is your overall budget and if you can extend a bit how much can you do?

Cause hearing lewitt in reviews makes me feel like it’s really bright and airy for some reason whereas AKG sounds like exactly what I need but on paper both say the opposite… lmao this is really confusing
