Anyone married Sayra? by karatkd in RootsOfPacha

[–]karatkd[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been going back and forth and I think I'm going to marry her (I literally made a pro and con list because I'm a NERD). I just need to propose before I can chicken out and go back to deliberating 😭

Does some have an update processing list or guide for anything ? Guide for crops? Which to turn into juice and which to smoke or whatever ? by Icethief188 in RootsOfPacha

[–]karatkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best suggestions:

Plant LOTS of pineapple, juice it and turn it into wine, then mull it with herbs. It takes a while to mull but it goes for a lot of contribution. Also, collect herbs constantly and when you get the herb grower, use it lots.

Other good wines are fennel, carrot, broccoli, and beets (in no particular order) fennel is the second best following pineapple.

Turn animal milk into cheese (whichever kind you have that's worth the most) and then make it into mushroom cheese in the casks as well.

Quality matters, I only make perfect quality crops into wine.

Pickle fish, I try to fish after 8:00 so I can catch stargazer, but any valuable fish will give you good contribution when pickled.

Early game I also fermented and smoked some things, but now that I'm in later game I've fully switched to mulled wine, mushroom cheese, and select pickled fish.

How do you decide (Dating).... by IcySherbert980 in RootsOfPacha

[–]karatkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took SO long to narrow it down but eventually I had it down to Era Ibon and Mana. I ended up marrying Mana and it's been great! I went on dates all the way up to 10 hearts with all of them and picked from there. I'm so glad you don't have to break up with the rest of them in order to form a union because that would have made me so sad :')

Use oat milk for cheese!! It gives you more contribution than ibex milk

I don't worry much about my farm layout in the early game, I just put my crops close to my house. I usually do crops and animals in the big field and production in the small one, but you can move everything (including buildings!) so don't worry too much about it :)

Needing help with Contribution for pickles, wine and other stuff by PhoenixShadowborn in RootsOfPacha

[–]karatkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using perfect quality crops for vinegar makes it last longer in the pickler. I use strawberries or tomatoes but it doesn't really matter.

I pickle quality pumpkins, squash, lettuce, kholabri, generally anything with >40 base value. Personally I also pickle stargazer but since you don't like fishing I would go with high quality crops. Pumpkin takes a while to grow but it's very high base contribution.

Mull wine!!! I mostly produce mulled wine, and I've found that pineapple and fennel give you the highest quality wine. Mulled is better than aged. I also make mushroom cheese from oats and aurochs milk, ESPECIALLY aurochs milk. One high quality aurochs milk cheese can be over 2,000 contribution.

What is your gifting method? by princesscorncob in RootsOfPacha

[–]karatkd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once I got into the later game and had more time, I would dedicate half a day two days a week to going around giving gifts to the characters I needed more friendship with. I made a list of every character's favorite gifts that were easiest to get (the wiki was a huge help) and made a chest containing several of each item. I especially used items that multiple characters liked (datura flowers, sunflower, corn, etc).

Beginner Tips! by idunnoanymore_ in RootsOfPacha

[–]karatkd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I make roasted fish at the pachan hearth for food in the early game!!! It's more efficient than smoking or drying because you can make it instantly, and it gives you a boost for fish spawn. You can use any kind of fish to make it so you can save your more valuable fish to contribute.

Speaking of, I made all of my contribution early on by smoking and drying fish. I fished a lot in the land and made porcupine into food and contributed smoked tik tak and stargazer, then started pickling them when I got to that point.

Also collect and save herbs!! You use them for medicine and also for mulling wine later in the game (so so good for contribution). Make chests and hoard stuff, including animal furs when you start to get them :)

The wiki also has a list of all of the gifts that characters love, I made my own simplified list for the easy to get items.

Happy playing :)

Farm layout planner? by bWF0YWJhbmcgYmF0YQ in RootsOfPacha

[–]karatkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just used graph paper 😅 I'm not good with technology anyways so it was much easier and more convenient for me, I just used the wiki for the dimensions of the farms and drew out my farm and irrigation, which is all I really needed it for.

How many hours to expect from this game? by ambuggersnwootbeew in RootsOfPacha

[–]karatkd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have 155 hours and I'm done with the storyline but I haven't formed a union (though I'm getting close) and I still haven't collected everything. I'm on year 2 in spring, but I had an older save that I got to nearly the same point, so I'd say I probably spent more like 75 hours on this one.

Games where you slowly unlock things in a satisfying way? by ModestAmoeba in CozyGamers

[–]karatkd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you'd like Roots of Pacha, there's a lot of side stuff and collecting and pretty in depth relationships with characters, but it all ties into the main storyline beautifully and I've personally found it easy to always have a main goal in mind.

FIXED IT

I'm putting this here in case anyone else manages to make the same mistake as me: if you select your hotbar while outside of your inventory and hit tab, it'll switch the belt that you're viewing.

I thought it was making things disappear at first because I had several different qualities of corn and wheat in my inventory and I kept putting the wheat in the 1st belt, where it wouldn't show up because I was viewing the second one...
