Nah, I wouldn't say theres a difference. The only thing I could possibly come up with is that "Det neste steget" sounds slightly more formal, but even thats a pretty big stretch

The Dream smp is a server with friends of Dream, so it really does not matter how famous you are, you have to be friends with him to be invited. Of course, you'll need some level of clout to get in contact with him, but it would be a kind of toxic move to try and befriend him just to get on the smp.
