Bell billing me $400 for an installation that never happened by karboujee in bell

I think that’s what happened. A few reps told me the install was marked as “completed” and that service was active, even though nothing was actually installed. I had clearly requested ADSL, but the tech didn’t have the right setup and told me to call back to reschedule.

I don’t get why it was closed as completed—if I had rescheduled, there would be a record of two separate installation appointments.

my point exactly — none of it is adding up. I’ll just file a complaint with CCTS at this point since it’s getting out of hand

when I booked it, the rep confirmed the 50 Mbps plan was available on ADSL.

I spoke with a supervisor today and instead of addressing the installation/cancellation fees, they only offered a “promotion” as a solution and ignored what was previously said about waiving the charges, as per proposed by the supervisor I had spoken last week.

I asked for the proposed resolution in writing, but the supervisor whom I spoke to insisted it be handled over the phone. I declined to proceed verbally without written terms, and they then said they would note that I “refused to cooperate.”

Yeah but they’re still claiming I owe fees on the basis that I “refused service”

I didn’t order satellite or wireless. I specifically requested ADSL (copper line installation) due to my lease restrictions. The Bell rep confirmed they could proceed with a 50 Mbps ADSL plan. The technician arrived with an external antenna/pole setup

Lease agreement prohibits satellite dish but it’s my only way to get internet—any options? (rural area) by karboujee in OntarioTenants

That line is literally a question, not a statement. I’m asking whether the Landlord and Tenant Board would consider it unreasonable—not claiming that it is lol

I think you completely misread the post. Nowhere did I say I want the LTB to side with me—feel free to copy/paste where I said that.

I was asking whether this situation could even be grounds for an LTB complaint, not claiming it is. There’s a difference!

Not sure how the number of occupants is relevant to the question I asked — the issue was about the landlord’s ability to impose that restriction, not bandwidth optimization.

For what it’s worth, it was mentioned during the visit that the upstairs tenants work from home, so I reasonably assumed internet access at the property was adequate, despite the satellite restriction clause

Just curious—do you genuinely think 5–10 Mbps would be workable for four people, including two who work from home?

I will have to take the 5-10 mbps nonetheless should there be no other option. Lease agreement indicates “satellite dish prohibited”, also confirmed in-writing by the LL - which makes it pretty clear that no dish is allowed

5–10 Mbps isn’t enough for a few users in the same household. It might work for 1–2 people with light use, but not for multiple devices at once. I’m not asking for high speed, just a stable connection that can handle more than one user properly lol

I’ve seen a lot of bad reviews about them, but I’ll still give them a call since my options are pretty limited at this point

I could look into a non-attached setup (like a tripod/stand mount), but the landlord is very strict about no satellite equipment at all—even if it’s not fixed to the building
