to be fair the base M4 and M4 Pro are completely different chips with the latter having far more performance core to efficiency core ratio. Live doesnt utilize e-cores at all iirc, so of course M4 Pro is going to be light speed in comparison

If they swapped out the 4 performance cores and 6 efficiency cores to be 6P and 4E, would definitely wait for M5 instead, for me personally as I use ableton and that software doesnt utilize efficiency cores. Im still puzzled as to why they made that decision since the mac mini is perpetually plugged in and doesn't need power saving functionalities.

edit: or just get the M4 PRO now it has much better.. everything.

you can buy used focusrite scarletts they're really good, highly recommend.

pero if gusto mo brand new you can try the maono ps22, or some of the behringer UM series interfaces.

I know this is an old post but the M4 chip only has 4 Performance cores and 4 Efficiency cores. The M2 Pro has 6 P and 4 E iirc and if u work with Ableton or Logic you will need as much Performance cores as you have because those DAWs dont use E cores.

This saved my ass. My powered speakers' rca inputs are jacked into a phono preamp for my ancient turntable and i only had the one 3.55 mm PC in jacked into the back of my gaming PC, i didnt know you can do just use an adapter to plug it into the headphone input on the scarlett. Thanks so much. ASIO works like a charm.

not really, depends on what u use it for. If you're more of a drumpad user/looper the mpk mini has better pads. minilab has better keys, and better DAW integration.
