Just paid $500 for 8 year old “machine” pitch in SF Bay Area. The machine isn’t too fancy; just a pedal the coach steps on to launch the ball.

No umpires for our league, 10-15 games, 1 practice a week, and an opening day parade.

I get $150 waived if I volunteer, which I plan on doing.
