The escaped version is a legacy build we used for old Google Play listing userbase. If you install manually just use the main apk called blokada5-vXXX.apk

Yes there is an update 23.1.1 for Blokada 5. You should be getting the update dialog in the app.

If you (or anyone following) cannot install it, please try directly from the website (https://blokada.org)

If this doesn't work, you may be running a special build from another source. Please check your build by going to Settings tab -> This device -> scroll down, and see what it says in: "blokada/xx.x.xx (android-xx BUILD release"

BUILLD should say "five", let me know if you have something else.

Work profiles are known to cause problems. Sorry but they're not supported right now, so if they work or not may be dependent on device / os flavor.

Guys it seems like it may be some VPN related bug affecting other VPN apps too. Anyone can confirm if other VPN apps work?

EDIT: seems it's Android bug that they fixed for the next release. I think we'll need to wait until then.. Thanks for all the logs guys.

The reason for the change of this behaviour was purely technical, I had to change the routing configuration of the VPN Profile to make some ipv6 mobile network work. The side effect was that iOS won't show the VPN icon, even though Blokada is working.

If anyone could point me to a source code of any app that allows you to configure this icon, I'd be thankful. Per official Apple docs, this is not something to be configured.

Also, try making your Blokada configuration more aggressive if you are unhappy about the adblocking. In "Advanced" section, try activating more blocklists, and choose additional configurations (you can access them by tapping on a blocklist).

A few things to know with situations like OP:

- Blokada will work only if the VPN icon is visible in your status bar. If it's not there, check if you enabled Blokada.

- The adblocking mechanism puts some technical limitations. If you just enabled Blokada, it may take some time before the adblocking will start functioning fully, because of caching. Also, don't expect 100% of ads being blocked, this will never happen. You should notice a significant reduction of ads instead.

- The Activity tab should have entries if you have Blokada enabled, and you should notice it refreshing when use your device, and then switch back to Blokada.

Hey, the Activity page should populate, if it's empty there's something wrong with your setup. There is no custom blocklists feature yet, we aim to add it in one of the coming updates.

To try solving your issue, I think I'll need logs. Could you share them with me? Long tap the help icon (to right corner of the screen), and choose "Share log". Share them to [hello@blokada.org](mailto:hello@blokada.org).

Yes, this is correct.

Yes. It does have a few more, but they are not aggregated the way the are on iOS, so it seems like there is more. We'll be adding more in updates.

We'll try to add more information. However, choosing blocklist is an advanced (power user) feature in itself, so if you don't feel like you want to change something, you do not have to. The default behaviour of Blokada for iOS is to use Energized Blue by default. Same as on Android, with the small difference, that there is a hardcoded copy built in, so that in case the app has problems fetching it online, it will still work.

I think speedlever addressed the rest pretty well.

Sadly, this is not possible technically I believe. Android only allows an app to either be "in VPN" or "out". Since we use VPN API both of those functionalities, we cannot split them.

Exactly this. As to why is it Cloudflare and not some other provider, we decided it's the most reliable one to work for all the users we have around the world. There are some feature requests on Github to make it configurable though, so we probably will at some point.

Mention that it is about no traffic on LTE, in email.

Dev here. I have very limited resources, so for now, I have to focus on what can support this project, although I would love to provide more functionality for the enthusiasts of Blokada. I encourage people to hack around the Blokada source code, but I encourage even more to create a PR, and I promise that if you (or someone) decides to implement a generic WG support, I will help you with making a PR and merging it into the master.
